The hotel was selected by Globis Monogram Tours as part of our tour package to Quito and the Galápagos Islands. The Front Desk staff were courteous and helpful with directions and suggestions for restaurants. The restaurant staff were not as courteous during breakfast. Food was just okay. It felt strange to see two security staff walking the lobby and restaurant 24 hours. Rooms were very nice, spacious, clean, quiet and furnished with bottled water.

The front office staff, the restaurant staff and the housekeeping staff all deserve kudos for providing service beyond expectations.
As a semi retired person, I was given excellent consideration when I stated that I wasn't one who ate a great deal and so I was given a rate that suited my budget and needs.
When I told the Front Desk manager that my flight wasn't leaving until 1 minute after midnite, I was given a special rate and was able too keep the room until my pick up time at 8 p.m.

i think this is the best place to stay in quito if you are looking to have everything you need all in one place. i met charles that worked here at this hotel on august 1st and had him show me the city. the city is very modern, not at all i what i expected and the people here are more then friendly. food is great, a little pricey but what can you say when you are staying in a 5 star place. if you want a bargain drive to the local mall Quicentro and you will find pretty much everything that meets your budget.

In a good tourist location near shops, restaurants, banks and a good local market. At least an hour from the new airport. On reflection, would prefer to stay in the old town, but that is even further from the airport. Nice rooms, quite variable in size, good selection of TV stations in many languages. Wifi was a bit unreliable, fine in some rooms, but in others needed to be in the corridor, and was common to see people camped out with their laptops! Breakfast was great and full service is available very early, which is nice as people tend to be on the move early. Reception staff somewhat variable, some friendly, some less so. Room keys bring the the elevator to the specific floor only, so if you have 2 rooms make sure they are on the same floor. The restaurant was good value, has both standard Ecuadorean meals and a sushi restaurant. Was a bit surprised that reception don't advertise tours, day trips etc. They do have an arrangement with a local guide and were very helpful organising a taxi to go the middle of the world etc. Perfectly comfortable, but doesn't stand out.

This hotel is perfectly adequate, especially if you are only staying a night or two. I've visited Quito several times and chose this hotel for convenience and security related to leaving behind suite cases while traveling elsewhere around the country. This is not the place to stay if you are looking for a more cultural experience (and I will not be staying at this hotel again). The rooms are nice and clean - but the staff working the front desk and restaurant I found to be surly and not particularly helpful. The bellhops and the guards were terrific. Overall, this is a basic business class hotel that you can find in any modern city.

We were booked in here as part of a Galapagos trip and I can't complain about it. Everything made things simple and easy for us. Would love to rave about it - since the rooms are pretty nice and the security is good, but I felt like the people who work here (except for a wonderful older gal who worked in the restaurant and treated us like family) are efficient but all seem a bit tired of the tourist trade. I don't think I would have even noticed, except that everywhere else we went in South America (Inc. Cartagena, Galapagos, Bogota, and villages in Colombia), people were warm and really friendly. You get what you need here, but not often with much of a smile. Again, no one offended us or anything - but it was a little odd (upon reflection) that here it was more like cool efficiency than warm South American hospitality. Also the prices are comparable to hotels in places like Minneapolis or St. Louis - about 200 a night for an OK size room...If you want a place that will remind you of New York or Chicago, this is your hotel.

Room Tip: The town has no AC since the climate is cool. All rooms seem to have comparable locations, though th...
