“Well located, comfortable, good value!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2011

This was my first trip to Quito, and got to this hotel for having stayed at other Accor hotels in other places. Was not dissappointed. Large suites, comfortable, very good sleep quality, good sound and temp proof windows, working area, table, sofas, very nice ones. Located over Amazonas avenue, very easy to get transportation (taxis or even buses or trolley buses).
Breakfast is reasonable, with good variety of food, natural juices, bread and fruits.
Rooms and bathrooms are clean, well kept. The hotel has nice views to most of the city. Is big, but not to the point of getting over crowded.
Internet works well and fast. Room service is fast and prices are reasonable.
If I would ever come back for business to Quito, this is my place!

We spent four nights at the Mercure, two on either side of a trip to Galapagos. The location is in a busy downtown area but it's amazingly quiet in the rooms. A few good places to shop right by the hotel such as the Indian Market, reasonably priced local leather and wool products ... my partner even got a pair of boots that the shop owner sized custom for her. The suite room had lots of space for all our stuff, wifi and a nice table to work on downloading photos and checking email. Breakfast was included in our package and it included plenty of choices - hot, cold, fruit, juices, coffee and teas. There is an attached casino which we did not visit. The location is about 45 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. So overall it was a perfect place to stage before the Galapagos trip and around our two day excursion to Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge. For local excursions contact Galapagos Travel in Quito and ask for Tania!

We reserved a room on the 10th floor to avoid street noise, but the next day changed to the 2nd floor because there were some very loud renovations happening on the ninth floor (during the day). Both rooms were very comfortable and clean, and with a nice selection of toiletries. We have a 9-month-old baby for whom the hotel provided a crib. We weren't bothered by street noise, but we're used to it!

The suite that we first got on the 10th floor had two rooms separated by a door (which worked great for us with the baby.) When we were transferred to the 2nd floor, the suite was completely open but the bathroom was larger and the room had a more modern decor. So judging by appearances, I think most people would prefer the suites on the lower floors.

I was a little surprised by the lack of air conditioning- we are used to sleeping in a very cool room so it was little tough to get to sleep. It might sound strange that I'm complaining of it being hot in Quito, but it's true!

The service was very good (by Ecuadorian standards). The staff was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. We requested airport pick-up and late check out, and recieved both.

Fine hotel, excellent staff, very helpful and provided really good service. Very nice, modern hotel with good amenities and nice rooms. Highly recommended for any pre-Gal or one/two night trip to Quito.

We stayed at the Mercure as part of a small tour group for 3 nights. The location is good, the rooms are fine but the noise from outside the hotel made sleep difficult particularly on weekend nights. Ask for an inside room away from the street. Even though the view is not much, the sleep quality should be better. Some folks have said that there is "free" van service to and from the Quito airport. This is not true for tour groups. We had to get our own transport to the airport post tour although the price was not bad. Also, breakfast at the Mecure is fine for our needs. As for staying in Quito, we also stayed pre tour at a cosy B&B style inn that was much more intimate and friendly than the big city style Mercure.

This hotel was booked for us before and after our Galapagos cruise and we added a third night for our arrival in Quito before visiting Otavalo. Very convenient location with free internet and complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport. Excellent buffet breakfast. Rooms are spacious and include a small refrigerator. Professional and very helpful staff fluent in English, French and no doubt other languages. Local artisan market is in the next block and Old Town just a quick $3 taxi ride away.
