The last two nights of a two week stay in Ecuador and Galapagos Is. were culminated with a stay at this beautiful hotel. Stayed on the Executive Floor about 50 feet from the Executive Lounge. Beautiful room, Breakfast, Soda, Snacks, desserts and wireless internet were provided with the stay. Never could find a reason to leave. They do charge seven bucks apiece for the airport shuttle.

We stayed here three times within a month on a pleasure trip to South America. Not only is it a lovely facility, the staff service was beyond outstanding. It is primarily oriented towards business travelers, but is used by Celebrity Cruises each weekend for their 90 passengers going to and from the Galapagos Islands, which was our situation. We then visited Easter Island and because of our flight schedule returned to Quito for two nights before heading back to the U.S. There is a day spa on the lower level, and it was great to be able to relax in the steam room at no extra charge. (Massages, etc. are also available at varied prices, although I did not indulge.) Internet is available for a fee in the business center, although two of our three stays were on an "Executive Floor" which included the Executive Club lounge that offered complimentary internet, snacks, hors d'oeuvres, beverages, etc. There are two restaurants: One on the lower level offers a breakfast buffet and then bistro foods, and a lovely dining room on the lobby level with super service and gourmet foods. The only disadvantage for leisure travelers might be the location, as the historic part of town is too far to walk to. The hotel offers its own taxi service which is more expensive than yellow cabs that one can flag on the streets (but be sure to find a real taxi if you get your own), but really not unreasonable. We especially appreciated the doorman "not allowing" us to go to the wonderful tram in short sleeved shirts, but requesting that we go back and get sweaters because it would be cool up on the mountain top while he held the taxi. (He was right!) Also, the hotel's shuttle service to and from the airport was reasonably priced. The lobby has a couple of bar/lounge venues, and has magnificent HUGE bowls of roses (grown in Ecuador for export) that only add to the overall ambience. All in all, if and when we return to Quito, we would definitely return to this lovely hotel.

First trip to Quito, Ecuador and stayed at this hotel with a friend for two nights and I love everything about the city and the hotel. The staffs were static, the rooms heavenly, and the pool WOW!

The hotel is a beautiful property. The flowers in the lobby are amazing. Checking was fast and friendly. The executive floor is very nice with a beautiful view of the city. One I live the most was the bed. After all day in meetings it was great to have a nice sleep in the great bed. Room is very comfortable, specially the rooms with balcony. The buffet was very good as well. I highly recommend the hotel.

I realize that service standards in Ecuador are different than those in the United States. Nonetheless, we were a little disappointed with our recent stay at the Marriott in Quito.

The rooms were comfortable, the bathrooms nice and cozy, but...upon making my reservation, I had requested early check-in, a room on a high floor and extra pillows and towels. Upon arrival, none of these requests had been made. We waited until 3:30 to check in to our room, which was only on the fourth floor and did not have extra pillows and towels. I went to the front desk and asked that extra towels and pillows be delivered. (I asked if we might be compensated by two more breakfast buffets but was denied.) We left for dinner and came back--but no towels or pillows had been delivered. We eventually got the towels but never did receive the pillows.

At breakfast the next morning (we ended up paying ourselves for the two extra buffets), our coffee was replenished only when we asked (twice, sometimes), as was the food in the buffet. The service was below what I had expected from Marriott. (The buffet was a whopping $17.50 per person--you could get a real Ecuadorian cafecito for $2 just down the street.)

On a positive note, the pool are and fitness center were really nice.

I have stayed 3 times at this Hotel last time in february 2009, the rooms are very clean the position of Hotel is great allows you to reach various points of interest in Quito and surrounding areas. Great Breakfast a bit pricey but safe and won't get you sick. Restaurant on Main Floor is excellent great food and service. Overall the price is very good, allows you to travel and explore and then get back to relax and unwind.
