This is probably a late 1990s building that has run its course in terms of design and layout. Upkeep is good but that massive impersonal lobby needs to be upgraded with a bar or something that makes it cozier.

Executive level is good and the lounge serves good breakfast and snacks during the day, although the bar is not very well stocked.

Staff members are attentive and helpful. Location is good although was warned a couple of times not to walk around the hotel after dark.

I have stayed in the JW Marriott Hotel in Quito and loved it.
It was very beautiful and the staff was very helpful.
The taxi drivers were also very helpful and they showed us a great time in Quito taking us to the beautiful sights in town and outside of the city heart. Safe and caring for their guests.

we met our travelling daughters here to strat our trip to the Galapagos. the staff weere friendly and polite and very helpful. The room was comfortable for 4 of us ,2 double beds and lots of lovely bathroom items and a super big tub- eldest daughter had been hostelling through to Ecuador and greatly enjoyed the tub. We stayed 2 nights at the start of our holiday then one at the end. We decided to use one of the hotel cars which was around $70 to take us to the equator lines and spent a bit more time with Juan Carolos taking us to the museum and old town too finishing off in the opouring rain at the market. Felt safe in the city well looked after and it was well worth the money. The hotel was happy to store our bags for us as we downsized for the Galapagos trip. We stayed one more night at the end of our trip and paid a little more to get taken to the airport ($50 against $30) but as we had to leave very early it was the best option.
The hotel was luxurious , we loved the fresh floweres everywhere adn the one we got on checking in, and well appointed but we didn't get to use the pool etc as we had such short stays.

This is a great hotel that is clean, with friendly service, several excellent restaurants, an on-site tour company, and comfortable rooms. Executive Level is great. The Sushi restaurant is excellent--including an all you can eat option.

Room Tip: The rooms can be a little noisy at night depending on which side of the hotel you stay in. The room...

It has an attractive lobby, and the staff is attentive, courteous and friendly. The view from our room was great...other than the room on the 3rd floor faces out over roof tops. We were part of pre-cruise arrangements made by Silversea for our trip to the Galapagos. We were relegated to a very small room – with two double beds. There was one robe and one pair of slippers and it appeared that the room was prepared for just one person. The bed mattress was old and we rolled to the center. Mini bar was empty and the safe did not work…it took 25 minutes just to replace the battery. Walls appear thin. A couple, either next door or above, was arguing and their voices carried. They must have checked out the next day...or resolved their issues! On a very positive note, their breakfast which was included was very good.

We were here from December 27 - 29, 2013. We were the only Americans in this hotel who not going to or coming from the Gallapagos! Regardless, this is an excellent hotel. The lobby was decorated for Christmas, the front desk and concierge staff were friendly and helpful and this hotel has a nice gift shop. In addition to the gift shop there is a shopping promenade at the back of the hotel, but unfortunately most of the shops were closed over the weekend when we were there. We stayed on the concierge floor which we highly recommend. For an extra $40 per person you get breakfast, snacks during the day and evening and free bottled water, juice and soda (alcoholic beverages are limited to 2 per person per day). The breakfast had a wide selection of items to choose from, including fresh fruit. Our room was a nice size and the bathroom was well lit - something which is hard to come by in a lot of hotels. We went on day long tours each day - arranged by the concierge. Prices for a tourguide and driver were very reasonable and the guide spoke decent English. The bed was also very comfortable - the mattress was firm and not saggy. The steak restaurant in the hotel is very good. Highly recommend when you are staying in Quito.

Room Tip: Stay on the Concierge floor even if it means not getting a suite.

The Hotel is large. The rooms are large with a tub and shower. The breakfast was excellent. The bed was great. The Hotel is a little dated and doesn't have the charm of some smaller hotels. It is a reasonable choice for a hotel in Quito.
