Wish we could have spent a few more nights here on our way to and from the Galapagos. Beautiful displays of locally grown roses adorn the lobby. Front desk staff very efficient. Our Spanish is bad; staff English is very good. Rooms were large, very clean. Excellent buffet breakfast, plenty of selection, and made-to-order omelets or eggs. Only fault with the property was the bar area. It is comfortable and you can carry on a conversation. Prompt service to order beverages; however, receiving them took forever. Noticed that they made my martini and it sat on the bar for eight minutes, waiting for the beer in our two beverage order. Otherwise, great place to be while in Quito (expect a one to two hour ride to and from the airport to this hotel).

Dear guest thank you for your valuable feed back, the roses we have in the lobby are the signature product of the high land farms. The omelet station for breakfast is very helpful in order to personalize guests requeriments. In the other hand it is important also your feed back regarding the service in the bar. We expect to have the opportunity to serve you again.

I stayed in this hotel february 2013. A very good hotel to stay in. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good, lots of fresh fruit witch i like. The service of the staff was also very good. Great Sushi restaurant. If you stay a few days in this hotel you don't need to eat outside of the hotel, great restaurants inside of the hotel for goor prices.

My wife and I just returned from a 2 week trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos and had 3 separate nights to kill in layovers which we spent at the JW Marriott. The service was outstanding, the rooms were of extremely high quality, and the location was good for taxi rides to most places you would want to go although not walking distance to much. Its about a $5 cab ride to the Old town of Quito so if you dont want to stay in a small hotel in that area you can easily use the Marriott as your base. All airports are now 45 to 60 minutes from the new airport (if no traffic) so you have lots of choices with regard to airport proximity. They have a nice Sushi Bar in the hotel and 24 hour room service which is great since many flights come in extremely late or leave extremely early now that the new airport is open.

Room Tip: If you can get an end room (I think we had #649) that have balconies they have a nice view off the n...

We just spent 3 nights at this property as part of our Celebrity Cruise to the Galapagos. When we first booked the cruise we were a little uneasy about it starting in downtown Quito, but we couldn't have been more pleasently surprised. The hotel rivals many of the Marriott properties in the US. With a beautful lobyy, large comfortable rooms with big fluffy beds and enormous bathrooms with Jacuzzi's. The pool area was beautiful although it was a little cool to use it. The restaurants were also great and the location was perfect for seeing Quito. I would give this hotel a very high reccomendation.

Room Tip: Higher floors away from elevator. We were placed on the 9th floor, which is the club floor. That had...

We used the JW Marriott in Quito as our base as we moved in and out of Quito three times during our trip in Ecuador. It is truly a great hotel -- the rooms are superior and the staff embody the standards of Marriott quality and name. On our 2nd (unplanned stopover in Quito) - while returning from Otavalo we did not have a reservation and the hotel was booked but Ms Mariela Mendoza (front desk manager) bent backwards to find us a suitable hotel in the city. Without her assistance we truly have had a most difficult stay.
Book your room in advance on line -- you will get a much better deal. The private car/taxi services provided by the hotel are fantastic -- small SUV's where all our luggage fit and the most cordial drivers (we were a family of four) . You do NOT want to grab any old cab in Quito. They will arrange everything -- SAFETY is key matter in Quito. We heard horror stories of tourists being attacked and robbed in broad daylight, etc. The Marriott is safe and delightful.....

Dear Guest Thank you for your valuable information, our staff is really happy knowing that their effort has been worth. in the other hand it's been a busy month in the hotel, Mariela our Front Office Manager knows how difficult is for someone not to have a hotel to stay overnight therefore she helped you finding a suitable hotel in town. Day after day we strain for offering you a consistent product to assure your total satisfaction. Once again thank you very much

We stayed here as Celebrity Cruise passengers. The hotel atrium is large, airy and welcoming - an excellent spot for meeting up, drinks or coffee. Front desk service was most professional. Three food outlets including Argentine steak house, Mexican and bistro. Food was American style, not very exciting and standard international cuisine. Bar area includes a sushi bar. Alcohol prices are very high. We saw Jacobs Creek from Australia on the wine list at $90. This wine's international retail price is about $10. Staff blamed the high alcohol prices on government taxes, an anticipated response. Breakfast was good, especially local fruit selection. The rest was standard. The breads were uninteresting. Standard omlelettes and cereals.

The hotel lacks an intimate bar. Looks like it had one previously. The bar area is large and bland.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, once again high American standard with plenty of US flat pin power outlets throughout. The bathroom was generous size with separate shower and large bath. Marble throughout and quality fittings with good plumbing. Television had a wide choice of channels and we had no problems finding our English language news services. The bed was excellent.

Service throughout the hotel was warm and responsive and couldnot be faulted. Pool area was a bit dated but well cared for. Overall, the property is clean and well maintained. Ideal for several nights.
