“Beautiful hotel for a magical city....”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

This is the third time that I stayed at this hotel, but it was the best ever. Since I arrived to check-in the staff was so friendly and efficient. My room was beautiful with access to the lounge where I found a nice place to relax and enjoyed a glass of wine.

The restaurants are great, you can find a huge bar across the lobby or you can decide to have a formal dinner in a nice Mexican restaurant or a delicious steak in the Argentinian restaurant.

Once again, a great hotel to stay to visit the magical city of Quito.....

A beautiful hotel with impressive lobby, several boutique stores and lots of roses everywhere! It is worthwhile to get a room on a higher floor with a balcony and access to the concierge lounge. The rooms are large and the balcony views are gorgeous looking at the sparkling lights on the volcanic mountains at night. The room are spacious with large bathrooms [separate deep tub and separate shower]. A rose was placed on the bed for turndown service!!! The meals and snacks served in the concierge lounge were very good! The location of the hotel was central. Customer service was also very good. I would definitely stay at this hotel again should I visit Quito in the future.

I must begin by saying I'm a long time Marriott Rewards member. In my business life I stayed almost exclusively at Marriotts and have come to expect a quality experience. The same is true for the JW in Quito. The bi-lingual staff is warm and welcoming catering to my every need. The concierge level was a huge surprise with a full kitchen and chefs attending to breakfast and dinner not too mention various snacks, beverages and desserts. I'm pleasantly surprised by the virtual concierge service that allows you to set up your transpiration needs, e.g., limo, cab, buseta from the airport to the hotel and return. Overall the JW - Quito hits the mark I've come to expect at Marriott.

Room Tip: Great value if you're a Marriott Rewards member with points to use.

My wife and I stayed here on two occasions while on a trip to the Galapagos Islands. Accommodation was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Meals were good.

The facilities in the hotel were also very good.

We spent a few nights at this hotel pre and post Galapagos cruise. It was a beautiful hotel with all the bells & whistles. The pool is big and has several areas with a waterfall; not crowded at all. The fitness facility is excellent and has everything you need for a good workout. We had escorted tours with Celebrity Cruises, so we always had guides and security with us. I tell you I would not go out in this city without them It is filled with crime and corruption. Everyone trying to sell you something or rob you. There were warnings in the hotel room telling us not to wear jewellery when we left the premises, and they also printed out a list of the scams that could possibly happen. The is the first time I have ever seen any info like this on a fold up card on the night table. Just kind of makes you want to stay put......and why not it was a beautiful room. We even had a big balcony overlooking snow capped mountains. We bought some beers & wine to enjoy in our room. (FYI - they do not sell alcohol on Sundays in Ecuador.) The restaurant in the hotel is exceptional, and the buffet breakfast offers everything imaginable. Celebrity Cruises goes above and beyond - their guided tours were excellent, and restaurants that we visited in the city (with our 5 security guards and guides) were excellent also.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor in the front of the hotel (the view is excellent).

This hotel is expensive..no doubt, but worth every dollar. I stayed at the Hotel Quito and have a much deeper appreciation for this hotel. The hotel, rooms and staff are superior. Pay the extra money and stay in a comfortable hotel with air conditioning.
