Our family of 4 adults stayed here on our way in and out of Ecuador. We loved it. The location is wonderful in the historic old town, the property is new and beautiful, and we found the service to be exceptional. Our rooms were lovely and charming. We did not have problems with communicating. Jacqueline Granda, in charge of reservations, accommodated me on a very unusual request for a large plastic bucket and remembered to have it available in the room on our return visit 6 days later. This boutique hotel is a great one we will always remember.

Room Tip: Perhaps asking for a non-street room as another reviewer recommended.

A peaceful, friendly hotel in a great location. We stayed on three different occasions over a couple of weeks and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Rooms are charming and stylish, the hotel is new and spotlessly clean. There is a great room for lounging and looking out over the building rooftops at the top. Breakfast was fantastic. You can easily walk around the main sights of the old town and its just $10 taxi from the airport. La Ronda itself is very quiet during the day but comes alive at night - especially Friday and Saturdays. If you are in the front you may want to take ear plugs or just enjoys the sounds of revelry (and accordions).

I should start this with the fact we don't speak Spanish (well only basics) so it can make communication difficult. The hotel is in a central pretty area of the old town and are very modern rooms, however if you have a room facing onto the street the noise can make it very difficult to sleep.
We had some problems with communication, which included being told our transfer would be arriving at a different time to what was originally planned, then when they showed us to our transfer it wasn't actually our transfer which we found out when we nearly at the airport and we were suppose to be heading to the Cloud Forest. Again not speaking Spanish contributed to the confusion but this was the only hotel in South America where we had issues with communication.

Dear guests:

On behalf of all the staff of La Casona de La Ronda Hotel, we are really thankful for the time taken to comment about our hotel. Your comments are of great help to us for the improvement of our day to day business. We appreciate your kind words regarding our rooms and surrounding of the hotel.

About the English language, we would like to mention that our Front Desk staff is bilingual and speaks English and, two of them French, so that they can communicate easily with our visitors. Nonetheless, we do have service staff that belongs to native indigenous community (Zuleta) that speaks Quechua as a mother thong as well as Spanish. This is part of our unique and authentic experience that we want to provide to our clients, as well as our contribution to generate jobs for this community.

During your stay with us, the whole city was celebrating the Carnival festival, and our Street was not an exception for the celebration. Please receive our apologies for any inconveniences caused by some noise from the street, despite our sound proof windows.

It is important to note, that the shuttle service was neither requested nor provided by the hotel. There was a confusion regarding your last name with other guests, and that is the reason why you took the wrong transportation. We apologize about our staff´s misunderstanding and negligence, as they should have confirmed the exact name of the clients that the transport driver was picking up. It is a pity that the transport driver did not speak English and this caused you additional concerns given the language barrier.

Again, we appreciate your comments.

Kindest Regards,

Gisella Petrilli
