“Excellent experience with our private tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

We engaged the services of Guanguiltagua to provide a custom tour in the Quito/Otavalo area for several days. We were extremely satisfied with the company, with our guide, Cristian, and with the overall experience. In the planning stages they were always very responsive to our emails and gave us great advice and recommendations. Cristian was our driver and guide and he was excellent. He knows Ecuador well and told us that "he works for us" and would happily change the itinerary if we wanted to visit a different place, make a stop, etc. We were driving back from Otavalo to Quito and he suggested we stop at the Animal Market (it was not on the itinerary), which meant that he would be late in getting back to Quito to see his family. He happily waited for us. Guanguiltagua organized the entire trip for us - from airport pickup to booking the hotels, to all the private tours. We would recommend their services highly.

“Fantastic Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

This was our first trip down to Ecuador and the Galapagos. Guanguiltagua Expeditions took care of everything. We had an exciting almost three week trip. All hotels, driver, car and private guide set up ahead of time. We were able to go places we would have never gone on our own. Service was great. Our guide Christin was the best guide ever. We were able to have flexibility and change our plan as we desired along the way. Big Fun, thanks to Guanguiltagua tours.

“Very responsive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

I dealt with Dennis and Eva for several weeks on various options for touring the Amazon and the Volcanoes. They were very responsive in getting back to me with answers to my questions. I was very happy with their company and would book with them, but at the end, we decided to do the volcanoes on our own and book just a 2D/1N jungle package with a local agency from Banos to visit Hola Vida Reserve.

“Road trip from Quito to Cuenca”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

I spent 4 days on the road with a guide from Guanguiltagua Tours. It was great! Every night we stopped in a different location: Baños, Riobamba, Ingapirca and finally Cuenca. On the first day I climbed Mount Cotopaxi. It was a very challenging experience but my guide was patient and encouraging. The tour was tailored to my wishes and needs. I felt safe and well taken care of the entire time. I loved the variety of the landscapes on the road and the abundance of sights and activities during the trip. The service from Guanguiltagua Tours was prompt, efficient, informative and friendly.

“Ecuador adventur”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

We were met at the airport Saturday night by our guide Fabian. He was fantastic. We spent two nights at Nu House, a small boutique hotel in downtown Quito. We spent Sunday going to old churches, exploring old Quito and seeing a festival. The following day we went to the museum at the equator. What a a great experience for my children. The next day we went to Otavalo for shopping at the markets for textiles etc. It was great. My wife bought hand knitted Alpaca sweaters for $20 each. The people were great. We stayed that night in a 300 year old Hacienda. Hacienda Pinasaqui. The following day we went to a town specializing in wood carving. I do not recall the name. Another great experience. Then we went to Cotacachi, a town specializing in leather making. We stopped at a weaver's home where we learned how a master weaver takes the wool, cleans and dyes it, spins the yarn and weaves blankets, sweaters etc. Amazing skills. We then went to the hot springs at Papallacta where we had hot sping pools outside our room. The following day we stayed at another 300 year old Hacienda. This was our favorite, La Cienega. We explored the grounds, had a fire place in our room and had great food. All of the time in between the destinations we seeing the beautiful views of the Andes Mountains. The last day before the Galapagos we climbed up Mount Cotapaxi. We drove to 15000 feet above sea level and hiked to 16000. Fabian is an experienced climber and made sure we went slow and safely. Our last night we stayed in Puemba near the new airport and flew to the Galapagos where we had rented a house on Santa Cruz island. Through Guanguiltagua we booked two day tours. One to Bartolome which had amazing Volcanic formations and some decent snorkeling. The other to Plazas which had unbelievable wildlife. we were walking next to sea lions and land iquanas. Saw many blue footed boobies and frigate birds. The snorkeling was spectacular. We snorkeled with Sea lions, Marine iguanas and many white tip sharks. Over all an amazing trip. Everything that Guanguiltagua organized for us was fantastic. would recommend without hesitation.
