Description: Cosa Nostra is a "Trattoria - Pizzeria", a typical italian concept. The menu is divided into a pizza section and a pasta section with a large selection of dry pasta and fresh home made pasta like gnocchi, ravioli and lasagna. Cosa Nostra uses only organic vegetables, fresh cheese coming from Cayambe every day and extra vergin olive oil. There are special dishes, like the pizza Norcina which is very gourmet because it has a sauce made of black truffles coming directly from Italy. The desserts of Cosa Nostra are italian winners,in fact Cosa Nostra's tiramisu is prepared with real mascarpone. Cosa Nostra is "Casa Vostra": the thing is that you have to feel home when you come here!!COSA NOSTRA has now tree locations: Baquerizo Moreno E7 -86 y Diego de Almagro, the second location is in Republica del Salvador N34-234 y Moscu. And the third location is in Orellana E11-70 e Isabel La Catolica, near the Hotel Quito.

After 2 weeks in Ecuador and many fine dinning experiences I have to say this restaurant is one of if not the best in Quito. The salads were amazing using organic tomato's and fresh made cheese. The pizza is the best in Ecuador. The staff was very friendly and made us feel right at home. When in Quito you must have a least one meal here. You will be back for more.

After ending up in this section of Quito because of some very bad Copa Airlines treatment, we found this incredible restaurant, which helped make a long day oh, so much better! Ricardo was our waiter who was not only delightfully pleasant, but also very quick to bring us all that we asked for - well, except for more coffee gelato, which they ran out of because it is sooo good!!!

Everything we had was excellent - the salads (the Caprese is marvelous - very fresh mozzarella), the pizzas, the pasta, the drinks all were wonderful. We made plans to come and have lunch the next day and bring a pizza to go with us along our travels. It is fun to watch your pizza being made, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. At lunch the next day, we were told by the owner all the different locations their fresh and organic produce and cheeses come from. These folks obviously care about quality and it shows in the restaurant's atmosphere, decor, and staff.

I just had to check out this restaurant after reading the reviews here. I'm glad I did! I just found my favorite Italian restaurant. I love the laid back atmosphere and decor, but the service is 5 star!! We ordered a Caprese salad: ripe delicious tomato and fresh mozzarella. Pizza with artichokes, ham, olives, tomatoes, perfect thin crust. Lastly we had the Pesto Lasagne: melt in your mouth delicious. The house wine was very good. No way we could have eaten dessert. Next time we'll leave some room!

For me there are several options of getting a good pizza in Quito. Some of them in expensive restaurants. But to get a good pizza for a very reasonable prize you can go to Al Forno (several locations in Cumbaya or Quito), La Bella Italia (Valle de los Chillos) or to Cosa Nostra.

Cosa Nostra is actually located in a former Al Forno´s restaurant, close to Mariscals zone (bars, cafes, international visitors residences). For this reason I think it will be more popular with tourists. Al Forno is located in the northern zone and Cumbaya, so it is popular mostly with locals or internationals who are in a long stay.

Anyway my advice is to visit any ot these three restaurants and you will get a similar experience. Al Forno has more options in terms of pizzas, Cosa Nostra has a smaller space so it can be couzier, and Bella Italia its nice if you are in that area of the city.

The only con: if there is a large noisy group close to you the day you decide to visit Cosa Nostra (as the day I went there), probably you wont be able to listen to your own thoughts as the restaurant´s acoustic is not the best.
