Great atmosphere. The owner is super nice. Had a good meal, good wine, good coffee and a nice conversation with a man at the table next to us. The place has a good vibe.

Great little quaint place in the historical center. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting the owner while we dined. Cheese plate and meat plate were enough to feed a family of six, unfortunately we were only two. Great value, great atmosphere.

Thank you for the email. And....we appreciate the rating of only four stars. We have been getting so many five star ratings that being rated no. 1 and no. 2 in Quito qas making us a little uncomfortable! We are just a small intimate Cafe and were contented when we were simply in the top ten in Quito.

The pictures on Tripadvisor drew our attention to go to this restaurant, and we are so glad we went! The menu is small, but great quality! We had the Cheese plate as an appetizer and being Dutch, we know cheese! These cheeses were great. After traveling for 10 months, we felt at home! We ordered the fried shrimp sandwich (only because they had whole-weat bread, which I hadn't had for a long time), and the main meat dish, which all sorts of sausages and it all tasted soooo good! We suggested that he could travel with us, as our private chef, but he loves Cafe Dios No Muere and his family tooo much, so good for you! We are definitely coming back (tomorrow) ;-), for the 2-day marinated steak we still have to try. Don't think twice, just GO!

We really are happy that you had such a good night at our Cafe and are waiting tonight for your return to enjoy our Louisiana marinated Uruguay steak. Ecuador makes great cheeses (but normally not at the supermarket) and our cheeses are homemade by our neighbors out at our farm. He is Ecuadorian and his wife is French so they should know what they are doing. I must brag that if our food is not grown on our farm (as well as our Coffee) it is made "artisinal" by locals and is not industrial type food. Thank you so much for the comment and business. By the way....my wife has given me permission to go away with you on you continued journeys in South America!

Found on tripadvisor as it was two blocks from my hotel in the old town of Quito. As mentioned before, funky, intimate and Matt is very friendly. The plate i ordered had way too much meat for my tastes but i still was very happy with my evening. Main course and half bottle of more than fair quality wine came to around $22. Very recommended.

Thank you for the rating and response. I really appreciate your input. We are finding that more people cannot eat all the meat from our Parillada. So...we are reccomending to more guests that the plate might be shared by two....especially when adding the small Uruguay steak!
