We stayed at the Casa Amarilla for one night before leaving Quito to return to the US. We immediately felt that we should have spent more time here. The owner is very helpful and keeps the place immaculate. Our room was great with a gorgeous, brand new shower. The breakfast in the morning was simple but delicious. The only regret for us was that we stayed only one night.

The owner of Casa Amarilla was extremely helpful and a joy to be around. She has created a place of refuge for a traveler that makes you feel like you are at home, yet she isn't intrusive or pushy. The room we had (a double on the first floor) was large, tastefully decorated and comfortable.. The bathroom was a nice size and well appointed. They furnish shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel in a dispenser in the shower - very ecological aware. Jenny will serve you breakfast no matter how early you have to leave to catch a plane. When we arrived at the B&B around midnight, she greeted us at the door and offered us a nice cup of tea.

I will definitely stay here again when I return to Quito.

Casa Amarilla is a gem. Jenny, the wonderful host, wants you to feel "Like you're at home," and you do. Through Casa Amarilla you can get a friendly, safe ride to/from the airport, and once you're there, you'll sleep in a warm, comfortable room. The showers are VERY hot (which can be rare in Quito), and Jenny is a wonderful hostess. Enjoy!

We loved Casa Amarilla and especially Jenny, the owner of the guesthouse. She took great care of us and helped us with planning & researching further travels & destinations through Ecuador. We left our big backpack with her while traveling north and our return after a few nights felt like coming home.
The rooms are nice and cosy and breakfast is really extensive and different every day, but always with fresh fruits and juice! Coffee, tea and water are available all day (no extra costs).
After your booking Jenny will immediately respond to you by email to ask wether or not you need airport pick up, which is really comfortably and cheap. You can also email her off course: info@lacasamarilla.com (just 1 a in the middle, I couldn't find it myself upfront).
The guesthouse is in a good area of Quito where you can safely walk around at night. All other areas are easily reached by short taxi rides. It is really nice to take the teleferico up to the mountains, to watch over Quito and enjoy the atmosphere there.
If we go back to Ecuador, we would definitely stay here again!

Our flight into Quito arrived so late in the night and then our time through immigration took over 90 minutes so it was the wee hours of the morning before we arrived at Casa Amarillo. But there was Patricio, all smiles and helpfulness, even at that hour of the day. And what a greeting! The vibrant colors of Casa Amarillo welcomed us in and instantly let us know we were some place special. My luggage had stayed in TX during our trip, so I was without the basics. Patricio found me a toothbrush and toothpaste making my long day end cleanly. Our gorgeous red room had all the basics we needed and our bathroom was not only functional but cute! The little half window "completed" by the full wall mirror was a picture waiting to be taken. Sweet.

After a good night's sleep in the comfortable bed, we were excited to see the views out our bedroom window. We were not disappointed. We overlooked a colorful school and could see the picturesque monument Quito is known for out our window far in the distance. It was beautiful.

And then we were ready for breakfast. Since we are vegetarians, breakfast can be tricky at B&Bs. But not with Jen and Patricio! Jen was right there, greeting us in lilting Spanish, and "just enough" English, and asking how things were. The colors on the walls once again wrapped us in their embrace. With the sun up we got to really enjoy the vibrancy of not only the colors but also of Jen's sunny personality. The table was set so beautifully it was hard not to smile, so smile we did. As we enjoyed fresh mango, tea, toast, and jelly, Jen regaled us with the history of Casa Amarillo and of the plans for its future. Sunshine poured in through the big windows and through the translucent roof of the little library sitting area where guests can find tourist information, comfortable chairs, and, when we were there, a mango ripening on top of the bookcase.

Would I recommend Casa Amarillo? Absolutely. The price was very reasonable, our room was comfortable, the food was delicious, and our hosts were sunshine itself. It can be scary coming into a new country but the people at Casa Amarillo made that transition effortless, helped me feel more comfortable even with just the little Spanish I knew, and made me want to stay and learn more. Being at Casa Amarillo was like walking into a big hug, and wanting to stay there. Enjoy!

I highly recommend staying at La Casa Amarillo. Jenny and her husband are wonderful. Very-very comfortable and beautiful place plus their hospitality is sincere.

The bedrooms are modernly decorated and super comfy beds. Bottled water and a beautiful reading room is bonus!

It is located about half way from the airport to old town Quito. An easy commute to either ( and cheap via taxi or a nice walk to La Mariscal). Cabs from here are inexpensive ( about $2 to old town and $6 to the airport. Or.....Jenny provides airport pick up also.

Again, I highly recommend this place!
