A large group of friends had made arrangements to eat here in March 2013. There were about 36 of us, so we had pre-ordered appetizers and dessert, and had a choice of the traditional pork and hominy, a lightly fried fish, and so on. When we first arrived, it was extremely foggy. Looking out over the edge of the volcano, sitting against the windows, we watched as the fog slowly lifted, and then returned, twice while we dined. It was beautiful watching the beautiful mountains and then the valley deep in the crater, come in and out of view. In my opinion, Ecudorian food is rather simple and bland, but my fish was nicely cooked. Most of us thoroughly enjoyed the soup and the empanadas. For our large group, we had good service. Several people ordered a fruit drink made with berries (I do not recall the name), which they all enjoyed. Most of us also walked around the site and peered over the edge! Price was around $25 a person, I believe, but our meal was paid as part of a package.
