“I wouldn't change a thing”

My partner and I booked the Luna suite for 4 nights at the end of November/beginning of December (2015) and from our first contact with Andi and Wolfgang we were pleased and impressed by the thoroughness and professionalism of the process.

They arranged for an airport pick-up late at night by Marcelo, who helps with the management of the property and is available for day trip transportation as well - we traveled with him on 2 separate days and were completely happy with his service and knowledge of what we were visiting.

The Luna suite is the perfect size for 2, and comes with a completely equipped kitchenette and a functioning wood stove. The garden setting keeps the busy city at bay as well.

Andi and Wolfgang both were very helpful with tips and advice about Quito and the surrounding area.

This was the perfect start to our Ecuador adventure - which we're still in the midst of!

“Lovely Oasis!”
Reviewed November 6, 2015 for a stay in November 2015

My husband and I stayed here for a week and couldn't have been happier with our accommodations. We chose the "Owner's Apartment" which costs considerably more because we needed a king sized bed and it provided a lot of extra space in which to move around. We lacked for nothing. The kitchen even had sharp knives, a rarity in vacation rentals! Wolfgang was an absolutely lovely person and we so enjoyed the time we shared with him. We would, and likely will, return again!

“Wonderful garden oasis in the middle of old Quito!”
Reviewed September 15, 2015 for a stay in October 2014

This is an amazing spot tucked away in beautiful gardens in the middle of a bustling city! I stayed for 6 nights and was totally content. It is the ideal location to walk to the old city centre, hail taxis just down the road and wander over to La Ronda, the oldest street in Quito. Wolfgang and Andi are excellent hosts, with great recommendations (thanks Wolfgang for recommending Casa de Alabado museum - awesome pre-columbian collection!) The shared garden is really a gem - I sat out on my deck and read and hung out, families gathered outside and barbecued together. Wonderful setting. Highly recommended!!

“Good base to explore the city”

The first thing to say about this place is that it is not in the most safest or touristy area and when you arrive at night it can create a bad first impression. Saying that, we felt very safe and relaxed here for most of our stay. The only blip was on our last day when we saw an old man get mugged by a gang in front of our taxi just down the street from these apartments. Before this, we had felt completely fine walking around during the day. These apartments are very close to the historical centre and only a $4 (max) taxi to the new town. We had wanted to experience the 'real' Ecuador and these apartments let us do that, but with everywhere you go you have to take the rough with the smooth.
All the tourist advice says to get a taxi for short disatnces of a night time and, when following this advice, we were fine. Although there are not many taxis that pass by here so you will have to walk to the corner to flag one down unless you get the Easy Taxi app. We found this very hepful as it avoided the walk of a night time (taxis come straight to the gate) and the awkward phone call to order a taxi (we don't speak great Spanish and not many taxi drivers speak English). No taxi drivers will know where this is so make sure you take some kind of map out with you so that you can show them where you want to go for return trips.
Although there is no getting away from the city noise at night, the garden area is very peaceful and beautiful, and the views of the city and mountains were good from our apartment.
Overall, we would stay here again and would, and have, recommended this to friends. If you stick to the tourist guidelines you shouldn't have an issue.

“Fantastic accommodation in historic Quito”
Reviewed May 16, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We enjoyed 4 nights at the Garden Suites to kick off a month in Ecuador. Firstly, we appreciated the airport pick up so much. We arrived in the middle of the night to find our hosts had supplied food in the fridge for breakfast the next morning. Our multi-level suite was spacious and immaculately clean. The bed very comfortable and well supplied with cozy bedding for cool, damp Quito nights. Our host Wolfgang was a wonderful resource for advise on how to see the sights.
