If you like crowds and a lot of noise.....go on Friday or Saturday. Our group could not find a restaurant where we could actually sit down and talk...too much amplified music. Otherwise....go on an off night or in the afternoon.

We were staying nearby at Real Audiencia, and completely missed hearing about this place. Our hotel staff told us, and it was quite a nice area to stroll. There are a lot of police everywhere, so it feels quite safe, and it's very fun to people watch and wander.

I noticed that many reviews talk about everything being closed. My experience is that everything happen Thursday - Sat and mostly after 6 PM. Was rocking last night (Thursday) and last Sat

I went during the day and not much was open, a few restaurants and art stores. I think this place comes alive at night. Its a nice street though, its narrow and it gives you that feeling of being in Europe.
