Casa San Marcos is a beautiful, peaceful retreat in the middle of the Old Town section of Quito. It has such charm: antiques all over, original artwork, and the older part of the building, which is 270 years old, has stone flooring, fountains, and much character. Breakfast was in a room that feels like it's outside with a huge window overlooking Quito.
My husband had a nosebleed one morning, probably due to altitude. The staff was so concerned, and they made and brought up to our room some special tea that they thought would help.
Also, our one dinner there was elegant, delicious, and not expensive. A great experience.
