We were recommended Jumbo Lodging by a friend who had stayed there a few weeks previously. It was as good as he said.
It is a small family run hostel and the people are very friendly. They went out of their way to help us; they met us at the airport ($5), recommended a local restaurant, provided information on transport and the local area, stored a bag free of charge while we went to the Galapagos and arranged our early morning pick up for the airport.
The rooms were very clean and spacious with high ceilings, ensuite bathrooms and hot water. Breakfast is included between 8.30 and 11.00 ($3pp if you want it earlier) and it is 'jumbo' in size- cereal, fruit, juice, eggs, bread and coffee. Free wifi and laundry service available. It is a 10-12 minute walk to the Plaza Grande in the centre of the old town.More
