This small, friendly hotel is very close to the centre of old Quito, walking distance to the main attractions. The building is set around a central courtyard (enclosed) and the rooms are pleasantly furnished.

The rooms are clean, the staff wonderful, and the central area of the city has a lot of things to see. We enjoyed our stay there, it is a very safe and not to expensive hotel. Breakfast was refreshing and well done.
we could walk to the attractions and there were great places to eat the local foods. The staff spoke English so we didn't have to use our limited Spanish.

Room Tip: try to get a room away from the busy street, the noise is less bothersome

We stayed during the last week of August as a family of three adults. We booked into this hotel for two nights prior to travelling to the Amazon. I thought it would be good to stay in Old Town on arrival, and in the newer section of the city upon our return - to experience each. I'm really glad we did.

We arrived late and were greeted somewhat hastily, and shown to our triple room. The room was on the first floor, right at the base of the stairs and directly across from the common computer/sitting area. Oh no, I thought. We were tired, and were really ready for some sleep. The hotel has four floors, with the top floor being a solarium with beautiful geraniums and a panoramic breakfast area with full views of the Virgin del Panecillo. No elevator, so this is a consideration if stairs are an issue for you, and the noise level created by other guests.

Our triple room had two full beds, separated by a door, which was nice. The bathroom is in the middle, inside the second door. The rooms have no heat, and tile floors which is a bit chilly in Quito, coming from Florida, but extra blankets are provided, so it's ok. The noise is a factor, so room choice is a consideration. The first night, I was awakened with chairs banging in the computer area, but thank goodness, the second night was quieter.

The breakfast was perfect for us. Cereal, granola, several yogurts, tropical fruits, cheese, bread, jam, ham and fresh squeezed juice that was outstanding. I felt very satisfied. The second morning, eggs were offered, cooked to order.

The dining view is really spectacular, in that Quito is situated on hillsides and the Plaza Sucre directly faces the Virgin statue overlooking the city. On a crisp, blue morning, the blessings in life are evident without words. On the second evening, after eating at Vista Hermosa, a decent roof-top restaurant nearby, we hurried back and beat a large storm that pounded the city for several hours. As we strolled each hallway, viewing the amazing gallery artwork on each floor, we watched the lightening over the city from the upstairs solarium and deserted restaurant. It was an amazing show as the old churches lit up in the night sky.

The hotel staff were ultimately very helpful to assist us with obtaining taxi's and estimate travel times to the newly relocated airport. Very friendly, and tried to help with some English. Staying in Old Town is a great experience, given close proximity to the square, churches and the palace, with good restaurants, street vendors and lots of great people watching. The streets feel safe during the day, however it is recommend to take taxis at night. Why risk it anyway, right? If you are looking for a Marriot experience, choose the Marriott. If you want a more authentic way to experience Quito, choose spend a night or two in Old Town. This place is quite lovely.

Room Tip: Avoid triple room directly across from computer area as it's quite noisy.

This hotel is right in the heart of colonial Quito. I stayed in both this part of town and La Mariscal and I much preferred the location of this place. It's easy walking distance to the main square and to the cathedral (to which a visit is a must!). The hotel has nice rooms, many with balconies. Breakfast which is included is served on the top floor with panoramic views of Quito. The staff at reception were very helpful. Great place in the heart of the city!

We stayed for two night (Aug 23-24). We book two room, with a/c and balcony which at the time of booking was available. When we arrive they only had two interior rooms, one had an extra bed which they tried to charge us extra. After a few minutes of discussion they then claimed it was a misunderstanding. When I said why was I paying the same price for a sub-standard room, they claimed they could not guarantee room and therefore I still had to pay the same price.

The room are clean but smell. They try to cover it up but it's still there. Breakfast is included but not worth it. There are many hotels in this area, next time I will stay elsewhere.

Note, cleaning staff were good.

Room Tip: Try somewhere else.

We stayed in this lovely hotel because we were getting into Quito very late and this hotel has a 24-hour front desk. We awoke in the morning to breakfast on the fourth floor, which provided the most spectacular 270 degree view of the city nestled among the mountains .

We stayed at this hotel for the first three nights of our trip in Ecuador. Four of us stayed in a room overlooking the common area with internet access, with very little noise, other than when others were going into their rooms nearby. The room was comfortable, the water hot, and the breakfast was excellent. After our friends son joined her, they did take one of the rooms at the front of the hotel that had a little balcony out over the street, so they had a little street noise, but not a big problem, as this is a pretty quiet area. We found the desk staff (Javier & Diego) to be incredibly helpful and informative. Likewise the staff serving breakfast were very efficient and very friendly, and the view from the dining room excellent. Other than some other guests hogging the internet to play solitaire one morning, we had a great stay at this hotel for a very reasonable price.

If you are looking to explore the historic part of Quito, this is the place to stay.
