Came here with a free walking tour and realized it would be a great place to get lunch. I’m a vegetarian and was able to find vegetarian llapingachos for $2.50, and there were also multiple stalls selling locros de papa. I also had a jugo de naranjilla for $1. Delicious and filling lunch!

During my 3 day stay in Quito this place became my go to place for a cheap lunch. They serve delicious local dishes for only 2-2.5$. You must try the traditional naranjilla fruit shake, it's only 1.25$. The only problem I had with this place is that it closes at 5PM ☹️

This is an interesting market located on the fringe of the historic district. It is a particularly good place to eat lunch. There is a food court spread over two levels that offers many varieties of dishes and soups and lots of good drinks. It is clean. The vendors are friendly and helpful. It is really good value and a fun way to go local.

Our walking tour ended at this food market and we were happy with these meal options at great prices. They had vegetarian plates for about usd 2.50 and with meat about 3.50. Additionally they serve tasty juices for usd 1 which are filling as well. The food was delicious and all of us didn't have any issues with the stomach afterwards, so it was on of the better food market experiences (seemed also more clean than other markets we've seen). Definitely recommended for tasty budget options.

This has to be one of the most organised market I've ever visited in central and South America. The produce is beautifully fresh and cheap. Head there if you're in need of some greens!
