“Great Business Class Hotel”
Reviewed April 1, 2012

Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful (they stored our luggage for a night while we were in Mindo). Continental breakfast in the morning is just what you need.

Not only is the hotel nicer than any HIE i've ever been in in the states, the staff made it exceptional for my wife and I. We were there for 10 days and the breakfast spread was exceptional. It is located very convienent to everything and I would recommend using the taxies drivers that work at the hotel. The front desk crew were wonderful and went beyone and above! We will be back in July and look forward to it.

Excellent modern hotel with huge rooms and great breakfast. Convenient store in the lobby area and Italian restaurant besides the hotel with delicious food. My place in Quito is the Hooliday Inn Express!

Comfy bed. All is very nice and ultra modern. $5 fifteen min to the airport and2 bucks
taxi ride to old town Quito and the malls. I was here for a layover and it was a little pricy but worth the nice sleep. Be sure to get a room high on the street side, yes believe it the street side is way quieter than the back. Very few cars late at night and you really can't hear them. But its very noisy on the back side as there is a few bars with loud music.

Room Tip: street side is quiet. The back is loud

The rooms were nice and clean. All the staff was extremely polite and helpful. The helped us with our city travel needs, also trips to Otavalo and Cotacachi.
We had to stay an extra day for medical reasons, they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and comfort.

We found the location and security of the Holiday Inn Express to be outstanding. Although we enjoy staying at local hotels that offer more local character, the fact that airline crew and business people stay there gave us peace of mind in regard to security.

We rated the breakfast to be wonderful by our standards; fresh coffee, fresh breads, cereals, eggs, meats, fresh squeezed oranges, and lovely fruit and yogurt.

Rooms were very clean and modern with great cable tv and fast internet.

Front desk staff were most helpful with the questions we did have and tours we wanted to book. In regard to tours, we took the standard Greyline tour of the city that was enjoyable. We also booked a private tour with a young lady that was mentioned in a previous Trip Advisor review: Valeria Davila was wonderful and the cost was around the same for a standard group tour. Valeria's contact is: (cell) 095037177 and e-mail: va-lery@hotmail.com.

Tip: We e-mailed the hotel with our arrival information and when we left the customs hall there was a lady in a booth that held a sign with our name on it. She secured a taxi for us that was paid for by the hotel. This was great as the arrival hall was chaotic.

Tip: The Esteban Steak House just across the side street was fantastic.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn because most other hotels in Quito were fully booked. This is a business hotel, service is all business and one can not expect any personal touch to it. During our stay, we did not see much tourists, mostly business people.
The room is somewhat clean, but did see some hair on the bed. For the price we paid, I did not think it matched up to the value. Breakfast is the same every day, after the 2nd day, we were ready to venture into the neighborhood to try something new. BTW, there is a bakery down the street from the hotel, selling really good sandwich, and the service at the Bakery is superb, all the locals go there. (once step out of the hotel, turn right, go down the street, walk about 3 or 4 blocks, the Bakery is on your left hand corner). The neighborhood around the hotel is fairly safe, but people in Quito don't normally walk out at night time, so take a cab if you want to go somewhere, even its just a few blocks away.
