My sister and I were traveling around Ecuador with our 6 children and stayed here for 2 nights, 1 night either side of a trip to the Amazonia. The house is amazing, beautifully set up and the staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. if you are going to Quito you should stay here, it is suitable for anybody of any age and the service makes it feel like home. This is the best B&B I have ever stayed in.

My fiance and I toured the Galapagos Islands, Quito, Otavalo, and the jungle for two weeks. Throughout our travels, we spent three nights at Casa Aliso, and it provided the most enjoyable accomodations of our trip. Arriving late at night and exhausted, the staff was welcoming and hospitable, and it felt like we were arriving at our home-away-from-home. The rooms are quaint, clean, and comfortable - we couldn't have asked for anything better. The lounges, dining room and lobby are lovely, and we enjoyed walking around with coffee or wine and visiting with the staff and other travelers. One day in the city, we were the center of a random act of tourist violence, and through no fault of anyone other than the two local perpetrators, we found ourselves in a strange city, needing a shower and a re-grouping to check our belongings. Thinking of where we felt most at "home", we took a cab back to Casa Aliso. The people there were so sympathetic and kind, and provided everything we needed to get our personal sense of security and safety back. They were lifesavers! I would highly recommend a visit to Casa Aliso for any traveler!

This small, 10-room boutique hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, but still close to sights - just a few blocks form the Swisshotel. There are two very good restaurants adjacent - also owned by the same people. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is very good.

We recently returned from our honeymoon from the Galapagos Islands and stayed in Casa Aliso for 2 days when we arrived in Quito. The place is an absolute gem and has been decorated and maintained to a very high standard. The staff were always very helpful with any questions we had. Upon arrival we were greeted by Patrick who was very charming and made sure we settled in well.

The hotel is located in a very nice part of Quito and some of the best restaurants are with in walking distance. Patrick offered to walk us to some of these restaurants to ensure we wouldn't loose our way. There's free WiFi throughout the building which was very handy to have. Breakfast in the morning was perfect and exactly what we needed to start our daily adventure.

If you're going to Quito I can really recommend Casa Aliso. It has the luxury feel of large hotel but is far more intimate and personal.

My husband and I spent several nights at the Aliso after our visit to the Galapagos. Nice, quiet location, near restaurants and a maximum $5 cab ride to almost anywhere in town. The staff members are wonderful -- kind, responsive, helpful. The hotel has only a few guestrooms, but several wonderful public spaces, including a garden and little salons with fireplaces. The breakfast is delicious. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: The ones on the ground floor leading to the garden are great.

We enjoyed "bookend" stays on either side of our Galapagos trip. From the initial airport pick-up until we returned to the airport for our flight home we enjoyed the utmost in hospitality. First the property is very beautiful, comfortable common rooms, quiet garden for sitting, comfortable breakfast room, and nice wood burning stove in the evenings. Our room, #10' was very large with two double beds, nice armoir and desk as well as a bench. The bath was well appointed.. All that pales in light of the hospitality. How many places do you stay these days where the staff not only unfailingly recommends fantastic restaurants but walks you to them? The driver who met us at the Airport held up a sign with our names for the initial visit, but on our return just relied on recognizing us as we exited.. They also made arrangements for taxis as we needed them, recommended sites to visit and even confirmed taxi fares each time we left. All in all one of the most comfortable, accommodating places I've stayed in a very long time.. La Floresta incidentally is a fantastic location, central - between the Airport and the Historic Center, safe to walk at night, fantastic selection of restaurants...quite a bargain!,

Room Tip: No pool or fitness center but great neighborhood for a walk

We stayed at Casa Aliso for four nights before going to the Galapagos, and it was a beautiful old house converted into a small hotel. We were two couples and both stayed on the main floor. My husband and I had a room with a little patio that we unfortunately could not take advantage of as it was raining when we were there (April 2012). The staircase to the 2nd floor is gorgeous, there's a nice lounge with a fireplace, and the staff is very helpful. The breakfast was great, and the dining room is spacious.

You can walk to several good restaurants from Casa Aliso. We didn't bother with tours while in Quito, just hired a taxi to take us to Old Town and then the equator. We wanted to do a day trip, and Casa Aliso arranged for a driver for us, and he was excellent. He took us to Otalavo and Cotacachi.

The house is very "welcoming" and they offer afternoon tea in front of the fire, which is great when you come back after getting poured on while sightseeing.

If I ever return to Quito, I would stay there again.

I did an airplane flying overhead at some point, but I can't remember the time of day and it didn't wake me up. I'm a light sleeper, too.

Room Tip: I THINK we were in room #1 or it might have been #5. At any rate it's on the main floor and has...
