Description: Fried Bananas is a cozy restaurant with a casual and relaxed atmosphere, right next to the main tourist plaza in La Mariscal. Our prices are much lower than one would expect given the quality of the food and service. We feature a variety of seafood, Ecuadorian specialties, grilled dishes, pasta, salads, vegetarian delights and more; all creatively prepared and as fresh as can be.You will want to be sure to save room for one of our signature desserts.I suggest checking out our website where you can browse the menu, read reviews and get more information about us.HOURS OF OPERATION: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 12:30-20:30 SATURDAY 12:30 16:30

In Quito for a wedding with friends and decided to check this place out. Prices are crazy cheap. We had the avocado soup which was excellent but the star of the entire dinner was the shrimp ceviche. We had the trout which was nice and the t bone steak had nice flavor but we had some problems getting the correct temperature. Most came out too rare. For desert we had the sampler and banana split.
The place was pretty empty on a Friday night which was nice because we were very loud. Excellent service.

We ate at this restaurant on our last night in Quito. We had a 7pm reservations, but the owner was nice enough to accommodate us for early dinner since we were already in the neighborhood. The location is hard to find if you are just walking around to find it. It is not in a good location for dinner. The restaurant is very quaint, clean, and have modern bathrooms. The menu was extensive. The fried calamari was good. The fresh avocado soup was delicious and the fresh palm hearts ceviche was refreshing. Portions were huge. The steak was alright but the shrimp and saffron rice was very good. I would pass on the desserts. The fried bananas were not to my expectations but the apple flambe is okay. The plus side, the restaurant owner speaks English fluently. She trained in Norway. Service was very good. After dinner, the receptionist called for our taxi and negotiated the rate with the driver to take us back to our hotel which is in the old town of Quito.

We were looking forward to eat there as the reviews in tripadvisor were quite good. Fron the beginning we had the feeling that the service was not in a good mood. Starters were ok, good salad. But the mains were horrible. The menu is rather small and there were only 2 meat dishes. As we didnt want to eat fish that evening we took them. We ordered the t-bone steaj medium rare but honestly it was one of the worst meat i ever had. The veggies were boring and the sides cold. I cant understand why the restaurant is rated that high. We had a disappointing evening. Maybe all others had fish, cant say anything about that.

This place has a great variety on the menu. I've had a salad and the trout there and they were both delicious. It's a great place to have lunch or dinner, but it closes fairly early so get there before 8pm or so if you're dining for dinner!

Is worth the walk, the previous reviews sum it up well. The price was good, however you need to be wary as they do add on the vat and tip after the menu price, but still well worth it!
