Owner description: Wine Tours Valparaiso offer Chile Holidays and Wine Tasting Tours to the public. If you are an avid wine tour lover or just an enthusiastic traveller in Chile, you will enjoy what Chile Wine Tours Valparaiso has to offer. The Casablanca Valley offers an alternative wine tasting holidays experience to what can be found in the Maipo, Colchagua y Rapel valleys. It also serves as a complementary destination for the very serious wine enthusiast that might be travelling through the other wine regions of the country and Mendoza, Argentina.

My husband and I booked a full day wine tour though the Casablanca Valley before we left the United States. Michael picked us up on time and while on the road to our first winery he gave us great information on Chilean wines and what to expect from our day. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. During the day we asked him a ton of questions and he was great about not only answering the question but sharing as much information as he could. The highlight of the day for me was the wine pairing lunch. I have a special diet so ordering on my own in Spanish makes me nervous. Michael took care of everything. We had several fantastic courses and my only job was to enjoy it. Also, the wineries he took us to were great. We have been able to find some of the wine at home!

Had we realized how much fun a day tour like that would be we would have booked Michael for a second day. For us, the wine tour with Michael was the highlight of our time in Vina Del Mar.

My girlfriend and I recently got back from a trip to Chile. While there, we knew we wanted to take a wine tour, but were not sure if we wanted to rent a car or take a tour. While researching on the web we found Wine Tours Valpo and got in touch with Mike. Mike was absolutely fantastic in planing everything. We had been exchanging emails back and forth to discuss possible itineraries. He even was able to accomodate picking us up in Valpo with a drop off in Santiago. The tour itself was great as well. Mike is a sommelier, so he was able to teach us a lot about chiliean wine, the San Antonio/Casablanca valleys and even Chilean culture in general. The vineyards and lunch he took us to were fantastic. I can't recommend this tour enough!

We booked Wine Tours Valparaiso after reading about it through Wines of Chile on Facebook. It was an inspired idea. We knew we wanted to tour some of the famous wine valleys of Chile but had no idea of how we'd go about doing it, renting a car and self driving meant one of us had to give up tasting, and neither of us knew where to go. Wine Tours Valparaiso was the answer!

We stayed in Santiago for the first part of our trip. Michael of Wine Tours Valpariso picked us up at our hotel and took us for a tour of the Maipo valley, stopping at the historic Cousino Macul, Concho y Toro and Almaviva. Michael will tailor your stops if you already know what you want, but we didn't so we were in his capable hands. He is a certified sommelier, and so with a few questions asked and answered while planning our tour before arrival in Chile, he knew where we'd most likely enjoy the tours and tastings. His choices did not disappoint, in fact they contributed to an absolutely perfect day in wine country. We could not have asked for more. The lovely lunch with Michael at Concho y Toro added to the perfection. Good wine, good food, good company!

Our second day with Wine Tours Valparaiso was through the Casablanca Valley on our way from Santiago to Valparaiso, with a stop in Isla Negra to tour Pablo Neruda's house there.

The Casablanca Valley is spectacular, and very reminiscent of our Napa Valley in terroir. No wonder the wines are so delicious! We visited the Verramonte, Indomita, and Emiliana wineries, the latter being my very favorite. Their Coyam wine is divine, and their tour was the most interesting. A very inviting tasting room also awaits visitors at Emiliana.

Finishing off our tour with WIne Tours Valparaiso at Pablo Neruda's charming sea house was the perfect ending to a lovely day. I love how flexible Michael's plans can be, no set tour for everyone to follow. You make your wishes known at the time of booking and Michael works out, with your approval, the itinerary to best include what you want and what time will allow. Our time was well spent. We were dropped at our hotel in Valparaiso at the end of another spectacular day. On our way to our Valparaiso hotel, Michael gave us some dining tips, and a quick tour of that part of the city. We had wished that we could tour Valparaiso with him, but his schedule would not allow, so he arranged for another guide, Oliver of Kultours, to show us the whole of Valparaiso, thereby providing us with yet another wonderful day to add to our visit.

We are forever grateful to Michael of Wine Tours Valparaiso for sharing his knowledge and his pleasant company while showing us the best of the Chilean wine valleys. Muchas Gracias.

We had two days of wine tours with Mike, being picked up in Valparaiso for a tour of the Casablanca Valley and then dropped off in Santiago. The second day was spent in the Maipo Valley. Mike is very low key and very knowledgeable. We were fortunate to observe the entire wine-making process, with the exception of picking the grapes, and sampling some first class wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our two days with Mike and got to places we would never have found if attempting this on our own. We highly recommend Wine Tours Valparaiso to anyone wanting a perfect day (or more) in the Valparaiso / Santiago area.

Others in the forum have favorably recommended Wine Tours Valparaiso for Chilean wine tours, and I would like to emphatically agree.

My wife and I had only a few days to see Santiago and Vina del Mar/Valparaiso, but we decided at the last minute that we also wanted to tour the Casablanca Valley wineries, which are between the two cities. We happened upon Wine Tours Valparaiso by a simple Google search, which also led to the recommendations on the forum. We e-mailed the address on their website the day before we wanted to go, and Michael responded within a couple of hours with options. We choose the full day wine tour, picking us up in Santiago, and dropping us off in Vina del Mar. The tour ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.

Michael is a native Londoner living in Valparaiso, and is a certified sommelier. So he is especially good for native English speakers, though he is also fluent in Spanish. Michael has a wealth of knowledge about Chilean wine and cuisine and provided very useful insights throughout the tour. We went to three of the premier wineries in the Casablanca Valley, receiving tastings and behind-the-scenes tours at each. We had lunch at Macerado Restaurant, and it was probably the best meal we had during our time in Chile.

We wrapped up with a mini tour of Valparaiso and ended at an excellent local wine shop. If we hadn't filled our suitcases during the tour, we would have bought more! I should note, however, that there was no pressure to buy anything at any point. It was just a great tour for the love of wine and food.

In sum, I highly recommend Michael and Wine Tours Valparaiso for anyone looking to tour Chile's various wine regions. We will certainly ring him up again when we return.
