“Little gem in the heart of Valparaiso !!”
Reviewed August 7, 2013 via mobile

Great little place, beautifuly decorated making it feel like home. Nice new clean bathrooms and a communal dining table. Oliver is a wonderful host and provides a lovely breakfast with fresh coffee. He is also a cultural anthropologist and lectures at the local university so he is a great person to give advice and insights on Valparaiso and Chile. The location is perfect, not so far up the hill that walking is tough and it's right in the centre of the best cafes and restaurants. It's also in one of the safest parts of Valparaiso. They are about to open up the front room and terrace as a cafe and it will be beautiful - a great place to relax and soak up the sun. This is one of the best places that I have stayed in and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Casa Kultour sits on one of the steep hillsides in Valpo; very colorful interior and exterior, lots of artwork on the walls, friendly atmosphere. Oliver definitely is the consummate innkeeper; friendly and informative. Location is perfect if you're into great local restaurants, artwork and crafts, and just Valpo ambiance! Definitely a place to return to.

Staying at Casa Kultour with Oliver is a great experience. He's very informative, and totally friendly. The house is great, relaxed vibe. We had a great time in Valpo, and Casa Kultour and Oliver were a lot of the reason we enjoyed our stay so much.

Great location, friendly staff and traditional Chilean breakfast of bread, butter, jam and cheese. Decent coffee.
Location is great - we walked to the pier, the restaurants and the discotheque.
Rooms and bathroom are clean and well taken care of.
They've got beer bottles for you to use and fill up - sustainable and saves money!
Definitely coming back!

Stayed 3 days and wish we had time to stay longer.

A couple of minutes walk up the Templeman stairs to Casa Kultour. It´s located in the heart of the artistic district. Some fantastic wall murals and nice galleries.

We stayed in a double room with bathroom on the top floor. Nice views of the port and townscape. Room was comfortable and we slept well.

Breakfast was good quality, nice breads, ham, cheese etc.The dining room is filled with art of all types.

Oliver was full of information and arranged for us a wine tasting tour of the Casablanca Valley combined with a visit to one of Pablo Neruda's three homes Isla Negra and a beach stop. Oliver drove himeself and the vineyards visited were excellent especially the organicly run Emiliana Vineyard. A wonderful day out at a very reasonable price.

Don´t waste money on impersonal hotels when you can stay at Casa Kultour.

When we first arrived at Casa Kultour, we had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to let us in & after which there was another wait since there was confusion about the rooms we had booked. Having said that, that was really our only complaint with the place. Oliver was a great host & gave us tips on where to eat & places of interest. The breakfast was the best we had on our 2 month trip. We got our first taste of Chilean music at breakfast when Oliver played Inti-Illimani which we really enjoyed!
The rooms are nice & each has a different theme/colour. The bathroom was small but functional & hot water through-out. The towels were tiny making it very difficult to use!

Overall, good value for money & would recommend / visit again

Room Tip: Ask for the red room from which is slightly bigger & has a view of the sea if you peer out of th...
