“Amazing city”
Reviewed May 5, 2010

Santiago is a amazing city. Althoug some people prefer to stay in Providencia neighbourhood, I choose stay in down town city, in Galerias Santiago Hotel. Althoug busy, Galerias is near everything I would like to see: San Francisco church, a beautiful paleochristian one, Alameda Higgins, Palácio del Gobierno ( La Moneda), peatonales ( Paseo Ahumada) , Archaeological Museum. This Museum worth every minute: You can see the South American History in the mummy, pottery and another articles. Plaza das Armas is near too, and you are lucky, you can see the "Troca da Guarda". Cerro De Santa Lucia provides a fabulous city and Andes vision. You should go to the Market, where there are seafood restaurants, typical from Chile. Try "Ceviche" and drink "Pisco", or the delicious national Wines. Fruits, specially cherry are the best in the worl.
If you like Folkloric Show, Bali Hai has a good show, where you can see the typical dance "Cueca".
If you are alone or not, Santiago is a good choice.

We were so fortunate to meet Juan Francisco and have him give us a fabulous tour of Santiago and the wine country.....AND this was just days after the earthquake....aftershocks and all!

Having a tour with Juan was the highlight of a three week trip from Buenos Aires to Santiago.

Juan has the terrific gift of reading his clients. We never felt rushed at places of interest and he also suggested other areas to visit. We got to see wonderful sights that are not in "The Books" and Juan even suggested a detour for our taxi to take as we went to the Airport.

We loved Santiago, the people were very friendly and the country is beautiful.

You'll be fortunate to spend a day with Juan! Contact him at JuanFranciscoChilliRoundTours.cl

“Tours in Chile”
Reviewed April 12, 2010

We spent five wonderful days in Santiago the end of January 2010 after a cruise. The people were friendly and helpful everywhere we went; our hotel, The Radisson Plaza, was superb; and we found excellent restaurants without spending a lot of money. Our greatest find, however, was Juan Francisco, of Chile Round Tours, who provided us with two days of outstanding sightseeing in and around Santiago and Valparaiso. We had hired a different guide over the Internet prior to the trip, and were not at all pleased with our one day with him. We found Juan, and wished we could have spent more time with him. If you ever need a guide in Chile check with Juan first at [-] . You won't be sorry. He knows the area, and loves his country. We hope to visit with Juan and see more of his wonderful country again in the next few years.

“The very best transportation system in the world!”
Reviewed March 13, 2010

SANTIAGO, CHILE has the very best transportation system in the world. The Trains run every 1 or 2 minutes during the week and every 3 to 4 minutes on the weekends. The Stations are washed, mopped and blow-dried, they are like Art Galleries with Murals and Sculptures.
There are Music Videos on, Humidifiers to keep the air fresh, Snack and Vending Machines.
The Escalator does not move until you step on it. The Streets are also as clean as the Stations and the Buses run like the Trains. There are Security Cameras on all the Streets. A Bookstore on every Street hence "the intelligencia belongs here". The Out of Town Air-conditioned Buses run every 15 minutes with Assigned Seating, there is the Driver and a Security Guard who checks your luggage and tickets, gives out pillows for your head and sits at the back to monitor his flock, also time you, when you go to the bathroom. There are Videos on with English Subtitles. We have walked on all the steps of the 3 homes of the Nobel Prize Poet Pablo Neruda. La Chascona in Santiago, his home in Isla Negra and La Sebastiana in Valparaiso. We also spent one day in Vina del Mar. The shops and markets are exceptionally beautifully stocked. I bought a beautiful long handmade sweater which will tell the story of the earthquake in years to come. All the Restaurants have Indoor and Outdoor Seatings on their Terraces. The local food is nutritious and delicious, everything is served with a bowl of pebre (salsa). We have travelled extensively around the world and nowhere has reached the above caliber.

“Lovely Santiago”
Reviewed January 26, 2010

My sisters and I went by private coach via Michael Arnold from Valpariso to Santiago. He gave us a mini tour of both cities and then dropped us off at the Crown Plaza in Santiago. It is a lovely hotel and just happened to be election day and thousands of people at the hotel where the eventual presidential winner had his headquaraters - what a party it was! The city is very clean and we took the free shuttle bus from hotel to wonderful shopping mall. On the way we were treated to another tour of the city - really loved it. The bus stopped at the Sheraton Hotel and it looked very nice, also. Sue Gore,Thousand Oaks, Calif,.
