You definitely would not stop here to have dinner. It’s not in a tourist area and you would not even realise there is a restaurant as it is behind a little shopping mallet.
We got this restaurant recommended by a friend. When we saw it we where contemplating if this was the right restaurant. We decided to give it a try and and it was the most amazing Ceviche and Tiraditos we ever had. It’s a real Peruvian Restaurants with only locals eating there. Not one of the tourist trap restaurants. Do yourself a favour and go and try it, you will not regret. Beware the portions are very big.

After reading some excellent reviews, we decided to head to Machu Picchu. The location is not fantastic - on a large boulevard close to a gas station. The atmosphere inside is actually quite plesant and the staff is polite.

We ordered octopus and causa for starters, and peruvian asado with puree for main. Even though the food presentation was interesting and artistic, we really didn’t like the taste of all the food we had. The causa had quite a bit of ketchup on it, and the asado meat seemed old.
All in all - nice service and staff, but our least favorite dinner from two weeks in South America

Our first visit, recommended to us by locals. An upmarket feel with the heavy silver cutlery and white crockery...and the menu was extensive. Looking around, we believe we were the only gringos. Servings are large and delicious, and well explained by the enthusiastic waiter...when we go again we would order smaller dishes to share. Wine list is amazing. Good value, very good service, well worth a visit...we definitely will next time we are in Santiago which is a food fest of Peruvian restaurants.

We were the only tourist in the Restauran! The food, service and prices were all good and worth it. The star of the dishes is Ceviche cilantro and chardonay for beverage.
