We loved the restaurant from the outside and the inside did not disappoint us. The food was very good, the service was excellent. We were a group of 12 and everyone got their food at the same time.

This place definitely attracts tourists. Probably because it gets written up more than most, but we saw more tourists there than we did anywhere else on our entire week-long trip to Chile. That said, like some places that become tourist traps & have so-so food, this place has fantastic food and really fun presentation. We arrived at the early lunch hour of 1 something, so we had our pick of tables. We ordered the Disco Yucatan to share among the 4 of us - 2 adults & 2 kids ages 6 & 8. It was the perfect amount of food, if not more than we needed - 2 kinds of pork, chicken, steak, 3 kinds of sausage, corn, roasted veggies, potatoes and a dipping sauce. We ate and ate and ate. It was very good. Of course, we had to get dessert and by this time, the place was packed, so service slowed quite a bit. We ordered the eponymous dessert and ate every bite - how could we not? It was delicious. This area is hopping and very cool - if we had more time in Santiago, I imagine we would have visited many more restaurants around Bellavista.

First, I read the reviews here and I know TA is not the place to come for restaurant reviews (if you're a foodie), but really? Some of the gushing about the food is a little weird. Our summary would be a cute if slightly cheesy, rather soulless tex/mex style interior, with attempts at quirkiness.

We ate outside and frequently had homeless people begging at the tables. Some might not mind, it didn't particularly bother us, it certainly didn't bother the staff who did nothing about it. Up until one of them grabbed our bottle of wine and ran off with it!!! Yup, clear stole our wine off the table. A couple of the girls ran after him, our waiter just stared (he wasn't the manliest of waiters) and another waiter gave chase to get them back safely. We didn't see the wine again, or the homeless guy. I had to argue (not that much, but still, I had to argue) for them to remove the bottle from the bill. We were both on our first glass from it, so we had a good 2/3 left at least.

The food - to be fair the portions were huge. Julia had a massive lump of cheese melted down over stuffed pimentos. That will stay with her stomach for a few days! I had filo pastry and seafood.....which turned out to be a layered tower of filo pastry, with sweetcorn/mayo/various vegetable mixed and put between the layers. The seafood was on the side - tasted nice. I can eat huge meals, but this was just ridiculous. Managed half of it. Great if you're trying to keep costs down.

Wine - reasonably priced, probably double that of a shop.

Tips - don't order the mains before you've seen the starter. Dessert was ok as well. Honestly, I would have preferred a good pizza/pasta to this. The dishes could have been good, but they were just gargantuan and lost their flavours somewhere in the preparation.

After reading so much about the restaurant, we had to go! The decoration is great, you feel as if you're in old time Mexico. The food tastes delicious, and it's not very expensive. It was worth it.
