Don't want to say too much in order not to spoil it, but it's a MUST go in Santiago. The food is awesome and the place is better. Be prepared however to wait a bit for the food. The first time we went we were hungry and the delay did not provide a great experience, so now when we go we always order the meals and appetizer together and works out great. Highly recommend the duck - in all it's variations - or beef a la roquefort, and the chocolate pisco to finish it all off. Great price as well.

Boulevard Lavaud has style and nobody could say otherwise. At least if you look at what Santiago has to offer this is definitely a place with character, and a lot of it.

The service is OK and the food is just average (not bad but not great). However, being in a place like this makes you forget about those details because in the end, if your are eating in that neighborhood is not only about the food but mainly about the history, the charm and magic.

If you go with a group I suggest getting one of the private rooms. Also, and if possible, try to go during nighttime and squeeze some of the charm out of the place.

Suggestions: 1) avoid the rabbit. It is quite boring; and, 2) bring a camera, it is worth it.

Really gorgeous building and decor. The entrées were quite good as well, but the main dish not quite. A bit expensive and flavorless (we ate seafood, it might be that the french dishes are different).
Do recommend if you have extra time, but only to enjoy a tea at Salon de Té, or maybe if you want to get your beard and hair done on a 1930's elegant barbershop :).

The ambiance is unique, the food excellent, the experience memorable. This is a one of a kind restaurant, where you can sit under chandeliers made of old beauty parlor hair dryers and where you can use a mirrored trap door in order to find the restrooms. Lots of history, located in an older section of Santiago, Boulevard Lavaud offers an interesting counterpoint to the Providencia and Vitacura scene. We had seafood dishes that were delicious. Service was very good.

I recommend this restaurant both for lunch during the week and for lunch on weekend or dinner in the evening. It is interesting to combine with a walk in the neigbourhood. The restaurant is decorated with old retro furniture and objects. Children also like to discover this place. You can sit downstairs or upstairs and if you are in a group you can choose to be in your own dining room. If you come by car there is a parking close by and if you come by metro is is only a short walk.
I have had both fish and meat hear and also dessert. The quality is good and the style is French/Chilian.
