The is a very walkable small neighborhood with lots of museums, shops and restaurants. We went twice over the week we spent in Santiago.

And I only say sophisticated for lack of a better term. Adjacent Bella Vista is a great time with a much more lively atmosphere, but being next to the university, you also get the loud bar scene. Lastarria is great for those who want a great time with music, wine and food, but can do without the younger crowd.

Lots of restaurants and night life. Lively at night. Street entertainers. The Hotel Lastarria is nearby, a great boutique hotel
