It had a European feel, but there was not enough of it. Wish more was developed.

After almost 3 years in Santiago, Barrio Lastarrias has always been and will continue to be my favorite place to go in Santiago. The old movie theatre there is charming--red velvet seats, balcony seating. The restaurants and cafes in the area are all fantastic, and run the gamut from upscale tourist to candelit basement bars. Explore this area, and the sidestreets. The architecture is beautiful and it's one of the few practically grafitti free zones in Santiago.

There are many cafés, restaurants, museums, cultural centers, and such. I do think it is a great place to spend a quiet afternoon of conversation, especially in a table by the street in springtime or summer.
