“Boutique hotel in the heart of town”
Reviewed May 10, 2014 via mobile

This is a newish boutique hotel near the actinomycetes of the Bellavista and Lastarria districts, with great restaurants, museums, shopping, and parks nearby. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely furnished. The staff is young, delightful , and extremely helpful with excellent English language. Breakfast is good and the coffee superb. The lobby has a great collection of art books in Spanish and English. The hotel is ideally located, but ask for a room on the park side. Mine was on the other side and the street noise was a bit much for a light sleeper like myself. Price is very reasonable for the high quality of service, cleanliness, and comfort.

I really enjoyed my stay at hotel ismael. I arrived there at around 1am with a coworker, and we were really hungry. The hotel didn't have a restaurant, but they still managed to put together a small snack with a sandwich, tea, and yogurt for was, which was really really nice. The decoration of the hotel was really interesting, from the lobby to the rooms. My room had a decent size, and all the furniture was clean and comfortable. The staff was super helpful, with directions, restaurant recommendations, and even giving water for me to take when going out. Wi-fi always worked, but it was not super fast.

Overall, super happy with the service, and the price I paid.

We really liked our stay at Hotel Ismael. It is well located with the award winning Emporio La Rosa ice-creamery about a 50m walk from the hotel. The staff are really polite and professional. Our room was really comfortable and we loved the amazing king sized bed. Wifi was fast and we had a tv with loads of channels.

Our only criticism is that we weren't offered breakfast. For some reason our booking came without breakfast included despite being the same price as a booking that includes breakfast. One of the staff members said it shouldn't be a problem to sort this out and to check with the manager in the morning. We did that and were politely refused breakfast. Because we were there on a Sunday morning, nothing near us was open for breakfast so we went without.

I recently stayed at this hotel for 10 nights whilst visiting Santiago on business. Ismael is a small boutique hotel with a tasteful arty edge. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms themselves are very comfortable, clean and quiet. The pool area on the roof is small but offers a nice escape. My only comment would be that they should provide tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms so not having to rely on the café downstairs. I will stay here again.

Room Tip: Grab a park room, awesome sunsets

My husband and I recently spent a night at Hotel Ismael 312 on our honeymoon. The service was exceptional - they arranged for early check-in at no additional charge and sent up a bottle of complimentary champagne to our room. Our room was quiet and so comfortable. The location is fabulous - within walking distance of the museum and great parks and sights. We also got an incredible restaurant recommendation from the staff - and enjoyed one of the best meals ever! Definitely value for money, and we will certainly stay again when we visit Santiago.

I stayed one night in this hotel and thought it was a great location -- near Lastarria, Londres 38, Bellavista, the Park, Bar the Clinic, etc. -- all a few minutes walk away. I had a balcony that looked out at the park. It would have been nice to have been reminded that breakfast was not included in the room rate (still recommend the cafe in the hotel with a sophisticated breakfast) when I checked in. Staff were friendly and gave advice and directions. I would stay here again if in Santiago. The bed was very comfortable. The pool area was nice but the pool itself is quite small.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Call it Ismael 312. Some years ago — never mind how long precisely — having little in the way of design hotels, and nothing particular to interest the restless global nomad, the insular city of Santiago quietly took to the construction of a new crop of contemporary boutique hotels. Among the first fruits of this new wave of hotel construction is Ismael 312, a nine-story contemporary boutique hotel in an easy-on-the-eye modern minimalist style, just off the Parque Forestal in Santiago’s historic city center. Semi-transparent glass-walled bathrooms, flat-screen televisions, full-length windows — it’s clear Ismael 312’s proprietors have been paying attention to the interior-design conventions of the boutique-hotel world. This clean-lined look has quickly become the global standard, instantly rendering a million flowery bedspreads obsolete. Here, if you’re fortunate, you’ve got a view of the park from a private balcony; if not, you can content yourself with the pared-down simplicity of your room’s contemporary design. Don’t expect five-star extravagance — Ismael 312 is little more than a pied-a-terre. In this neighborhood, though, that’s more than enough — you’re surrounded by restaurants and picturesque old streets, not to mention the park with its selection of museums, perfectly placed to circumambulate the city of a dreamy Sabbath afternoon. ... more   less
