What a place, though the base area facilities are on the smaller scale the terraine more than makes up for it after all you go to a ski resort for skiing not just sitting at the bar or restaurant. even though I was there late season the resort went out of their way to make sure that acess was available to all runs necessary. Accomodations are also spacious and comfortable. Saint Tropes restaurant is great great portions and great tasing food, be sure to have the best Pisco Sour around. For an alternate food chouce take a short trip down mountain a way to Ferrolones and the restaurant El Montanes.

I was at La Parva 2 days after it had snowed & could still find a few uncut lines. There were some long runs & good terrain, but it took a few lifts to get to them & repeat them. As a skier, I didn't mind the surface lifts but snowboarders might not enjoy 2/3 uphill capacity being serviced by "platters". I heard it was a popular Santiago ski area so weekends may be busier, but I found that on a Friday I could just ski up to the lifts. The black expert runs were fun but not as tough as US Rocky Mountain ones. The Fabres chair & terrain were closed, maybe open on weekends. Views are magnificent! Like most European & S. Am resorts, people were hanging out at the restaurants rather than on the slopes. Food was ski area pricey but good. I was confused at first between the 2 sides, Alpha & Chica. Maps & signage were in Spanish only. It's all above timberline, so I suggest sitting out snow days as you'll be skiing in whiteout conditions. My day was a beautiful, warm (it cools toward 3:30), blue sky experience.

This place was horrible...85%of the "lifts" are j bars...if you are cool riding one of those to the top of the mountain, cool. Otherwise, you will have a hell of a time connecting runs & enjoying the mountain. Slow lifts, weird runs. You can get a discount if you pay with a Citicard but overall, this place was crap. Although harder (slightly bc of need for snow chains which you can rent en route), go right to sole Nevado.

Dear Jessica, thank you for your review, we are working hard to make some changes in our lifts.
Right now we have 5 chairlift and 9 surface lifts, we aware that the surface one are a little "leg burning"
La Parva is a windy ski resort, that´s why in other to have the mountain open and follow all the security standard we have this kind of lift to connect the mountain.
We are bummed you did not have a great experience, because this is our first goal.
We hope you come back in the future and we can show you around and enjoy La Parva.
Best Regards

Conveniently close to Santiago, charming, reasonable prices and lots of beautiful people. Take the G21 road and about 15 miles you're at the slopes. Must see in Chile.

Today was our day at La Parva and it was a good day. We hit a lot of off-piste to catch the powder from the snowstorm 6 days ago and stayed most of the day towards the left side (when looking) of the mountain since the sun warmed up those trails well. We also appreciated that La Parva had a working ATM since El Colorado and Valle Nevado did not.

Only complaint is the amount of t-bars which as a snowboarder, can be a bit challenging when your legs are tired. But we basically rode chairlift to chairlift because we need the break for our legs!
