A great way to enjoy the winter in Chile and escape the smog in Santiago! Also, la Parva has better infrastructure (hotels, restaurants etc.) than the others

“Family friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2012

Very family oriented, a couple of places where the kids can go to learn to ski and to just play around in the snow. It seems to be the oldest and most built up of the three major resorts (La Parva, El Colorado and Valle Nevado). Easy to go up for a day from Santiago to ski.

“A Little Ski Mecca Nestled in the Andes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2011

La Parva is an amazing place, friendly staff, great food, great skiing, and the worlds best sunsets. It has a unique feel unlike any other ski resort I have ever visited, the people are welcoming and give you the feeling that you are a friend. The terrain is amazing, if you like to ski powder at La Parva you can ski the deep stuff well after a storm as most people stick to the groomers. If you like to hike La Parva has some great hike to terrain for those looking for more of an adventure.

The food is excellent, the fondue at La Marmita is phenomenal, make sure to try the cheese tomato fondue. The french cuisine at St. Tropez is great as well, and you have to have a Pisco Sour overlooking the worlds best sunsets. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique trip in the North American summer.

“Fun for novelty but Colorado is much better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2010

If you are an American, this is a fun place to go in the summer for the sheer novelty of skiing/riding in the summer. The runs are fun but very short. Most of the lifts are drag lifts so snowboarders beware. They are very different from US drag lifts. I fell off 13 times one day... very embarassing. We stayed for 4 days and it was 2 days too many. Make it a short trip and you will really enjoy it. Food is wonderful out here. Great meat. View is nice as well.
