Museo Nacional de Bellas Arts trylly represents Chilie and it's people. it has some superb collection of old and new, including visiting exhibition. We were lucky to witness Kaarina Kaikkonen's exhibition titled Two Projects - Traces and Dialogues (Dos Proyectos - Huellas y Dialogos). Please see attached pictures from this monumental exhibition and from the museums permanent exhibition.

The museum is free and we had a good afternoon here, then good walk with children in the park opposite.

“Worth 2 hrs”

Beautiful building and a few interesting temporary exhibitions. Unfortunately my spanish isn't quite up to par, but it was thought provoking and new - to me. Permanent exhibit even nicer. Then the MAC next door has some even more modern and occasionally unsettling exhibits. All in the middle of a nice park.

“Superb exhibitions,beautiful building”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013 via mobile

Don't miss this beautiful art space. Temporary exhibitions from Herman Miranda and Asger Jorn and Surrealists are excellent but 28 pieces from Paula Lynch are extraordinary, do not miss. Kaarina Kaikkonen's enormous piece fills the Central Hall and is very bright and thought provoking. Chilean art both 2D and 3D past and present very well represented. All in all a superb little museum.

“Beautiful Building and Interesting Collections”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

The Fine Arts Museum contains a wonderful collection of artwork and historical items to see and read about. The location is downtown on the square and an easy walk to other historical locations in the area. No cost to enter and well worth spending some time here.
