“A bit disappointing”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

We decided to walk from our hotel, Santiago Marriott, to Los Dominicos Handicraft Village even though our concierge said it was too far. All in all, it took us about 50 minutes and it was an easy walk. Got to the village to find lots of small little shops. While some of the items were nice, most were cheap looking and very expensive for what they were. We went there with the intention of buying some gifts for friends and family but left with nothing. The bathrooms are free here but they were closed.

“Very good to spend a Sunday morning”

Members have already said a lot about Los Dominicos but not enough to say that the less expensive way to get there is by Metro/Cab. Take Line #1(Red) up to Los Dominicos, the terminal station. The round trip fare will cost you about US$4,00 and the station is 15 minutes way. From there you can take a cab by the curb and in 10 minutes you´ll be there. The cab is around CL$1.300,00 pesos or US$3,00. Anything cheaper and faster than that? I don´t think so.

“Enjoyable visit, fun to browse & shop”
Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

Los Dom is worth a visit. 150 artisans housed in a series of adjoining cottages set around a central courtyard with plenty of greenery & shade. The goods are of a certain quality, attrative design, all natural materials. We've visited similar artisan villages in other cities which didn't have the same critical mass of artisans or range & quality of goods. The Village is on the east side of town, away from the main attractions, but easy to get to. We took the Metro (red line) to the end of the line and it's a short walk from the station. Prices on the high side, but we found a couple of shops that had what were looking for at reasonable prices, so we happily made our purchases. Closed on Mondays.
