With only one full day in Santiago, I'm glad to have spent an hour here. Not often enough are poets celebrated so I really appreciated this carefully preserved house of love that Neruda built for his lover and muse. The English audio guide was informative, and the staff cheerful. Well worth the admission price.

Pablo Neruda's house in Bellavista neighborhood is as interesting as the man himself. This place is of historical importance to the Chilean people, as Neruda's funeral was held here. It turned into a public protest against the regime, with international media coverage.

If you enjoy Pablo Neruda in the slightest, you need to visit his house. It's an easy stop before you head up Cerra San Cristobol (tallest hill in the city, in the north of the Barrio Bellavista).
Everything in the house, which he built for his paramour, has a purpose. The tour includes an audioguide which is excellent. Nothing in the house is there without a reason.
Highly recommended!

I have never written a review of a a sight, but I was so angered by this top listed sight, that I had to. Frankly, this sight is just stupid. I am completely unable to fathom how so many people found the least bit of interest in this place. You can all come to my house next time, it is just as boring, and it is free.

Chascona is one of the houses of the poet pablo neruda in santiago. it is a strange architecture but helps you learn about the life of the man. I enjoyed my stay and though it was good to understand when reading his poems
