“Interesting Home and Great Insight into the Life of the Poet”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

I visited La Chascona with two friends who were sort of indifferent about going. I really enjoyed it and both of my friends raved about how much they enjoyed it as well. The audio guide is essential and included funny stories about Neruda and Matilde. The art within is worth the trip.

“the view must have been great!”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

Interesting space. My husband is familiar with his work and appreciated the visit much more than I did. Regardless, worth the visit. I don't want to spoil the experience for you so I won't post all the photos.

“Quirky”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

The tour provided a great insight into this unusual home of an unusual man and his third wife Matilda. Well done audio-guide. Interesting eclectic collection of art, objects, and history. Loved the funky nautical theme of the bar and dining room on the first floor. A must see in Santiago.

“Insight into a Great Man”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

Not just a poet, Neruda filled a soccer stadium for his funeral and started a revolution. His three homes in Chile are revealing insights into the man. I came away understanding him much more clearly. He turned other people's discards into beautiful treasures. He was playful. He was a lover. And also a patriot. Like the man, his homes are unique and colorful. Go!
