“A great insight into Neruda's life”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

A really interesting guided tour. You get to know more about Neruda's life, interests, collections, etc... I took the tour in spanish, but it can be in english or french and the tour takes around one hour. You should make a reservation in advance, but it's not a must.

“Good educational tour”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

Very nice tour. The guide's English was not prefect, but he communicated everything we wanted. It can be difficult to get Chileans to talk very much about the Pinochet years, but this tour is a very good way to learn about this tragic era. A must-do.

“Must visit”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

Great place to know more about Pablo Neruda's life & history. Located near the entrance of a public park & zoo, is a rare house full of stories and a 60's atmosphere.

“A good surprise”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

I didn't expect much, but the guided visit proved to be a trip inside Neruda's history. You not only get to know about his life, but also about history, gossip and art, not to mention the crazy decoration ideas you may get from this unusual house. Don't miss it.

“Great tour!”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Book ahead so you avoid having to wait for a time slot, you can only travel through the house with a guide, but they offer English and Spanish every half hour or so, but numbers are limited. This was the last of the three houses we visited and unlike the others you have a person to guide you, which allowed us to ask all the questions that we had. He was great.

This house is not as fantastic as the other two - my favourite is Isle Negra, but here I learned why. Unfortunately Pablo's Valparaiso and Santiago homes were looted after his death, so many of his famous collections were destroyed. So in Santiago the library is bare. But his trade mark signature is definitely present.

If you only have time to go to one, Isle Negra is my pick.
