Worth the visit, especially the funicular to the statue for the view. The restaurants and bars are a bit of tourist trap on the main drags, but off the beaten track there are good choices. Lively and interesting.

This is a totally cool area of the city and home to several of the nicer restaurants and shops... they are a little expensive but worth it ...

As a Citizen of Santiago, I don't like to go to Bellavista. It is difficult to park and the rates are expensive per half hour or minute.
There is a place named "Patio Bellavista" and this place is very good, it is the only place I like to go sometimes.

Barrio Bellavista offers something for the heart, mind, and soul with small theaters, diverse restaurants offering an adventure in taste, street side bars and music to dance the night away at a full range of night clubs. Be brave and join the locals.

A few blocks packed with places to eat and drink. This is an older district with low buildings which look more colonial than other parts of town. Younger and much livelier than Vitacura, Golf and Condes, and much prettier than Providencia. Chileans warn you about security but it felt fine if you stick to the busy section - you probably have to be careful in the same way as you do in most big cities. You can find all sorts of restaurants for all types of occasion. Bellavista is also famous for its Lapus Lazuli. That part looks shabbier and it is ages since I went but it is a traditional tourist destination (trap)
