“Interesting neighborhood: lots going on there!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

It is an old neighborhood, today full of restaurants and pubs, very lively, but consider the following: I do not recomend going there after 11pm, because it could get dangerous (street fights, etc., because of young people who drink too much).
However, there are several very good restaurants, worth going to. Also visit Patio Bellavista, which has little stores with typical chilean things, silver jewelry, pubs and restaurants. I would say, the main street for good restaurants is Constitucion.

“Best bars, restaurants and live music in Santiago”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Bellavista has some of the best places to party, eat great food, and listen to live music.

Make sure you go to Chilango to get some amazing Mexican food, which is VERY hard to find in Chile.

Best place to see live Jazz in all of Chile, Thelonious Lugar de Jazz on Bombero Ñuñez.

Onaciu is the best bar around with good music and drinks!

“Bohemian Quarter.”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The barrio of Bellavista is an interesting area for the tourist and resident alike, situated across the river at the base of the San Cristobal Hill. By day it can appear to be somewhat rundown, as the buildings are very old and not all are kept up. This is an arty area and there are many artist workshops here. At night the area really comes alive as there is a great variety of bars and restaurants of all levels, as well as clubs to choose from. It is quite entertaining to walk around this area at night after your meal, as the street vendors are out and there is a lot of life on the streets and at the pavement cafe's. Be careful to watch your valuables.
