A nice walk for a couple of hours in the city center. There isn;t much to see up this extinct volcano

“Beautiful green space in the center of Santiago”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

Lovely park with a nice view of the city. We walked up to the top of the hill, but there is an elevator as well. Well maintained park, lots of shades.

“Too late...”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Yes, I got there just in time for the last trip. Certainly need more time than one hour. To get there I travelled by sub, easily although crowded. next time, avoid rush hour!

“Easily accessible hill in the middle of Santiago”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

The view over the nearby city is quite interesting and the meandering paths are very pleasant. One can climb to the old fort on the top where at 12 noon a cannon is fired that can be heard all over Santiago. There are some statues and decorative fountains that complement the greenery that is well kept. There are some stores at the foot of the Santa Lucia that have native handicrafts that are worth a visit. Next to the Santa Lucia is the National Library (Biblioteca Nacional) that is well worth a visit for the building and exhibits.
