“Stupendous”

A stunning place. Do not miss this beautiful cathedral. It is huge. Everything is just stunning, from the floor tiles to the frescoed ceilings. Spend time on walking throughout. The altar, the isles just breathtaking

“Definitely worth seeing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

Located in the centre of the city this Cathedral is quite spectacular. The most impressive part is the opulent interior built mostly by Bavarian Jesuits in the 18th century.
Like all religious buildings inside it is a quiet refuge from the busy life outside.
Access is good with subway stations nearby, and adjacent to the Cathedral is the Plaza de Armas with many interesting buildings and places to eat.

“Absolutely spectacular”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

This is a very beautiful cathedral. When I went, the manger was still set up. The statue of the Virgin Mary that use to be on top of the cathedral, between the two steeples is now inside, due to the last earthquake. There are plans to restore it on top again, but more securely.

“Delightfully beautiful”

You just would not expect to see something so lovely in this area but they are obviously proud of and have kept up this cathedral through the years. Well worth the stop in for a moment of quiet and reflection in a very busy part of town!

“Nice Quiet Place in the middle of Santiago”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

The Catedral Metropolitana in Santiago is a nice quiet place in the middle of the city. It is located in a very crowded area, in the heart of Santiago. It has a nice outside and is very peaceful inside.
It also has a very beautiful inside with a nice great middle corridor. It is worth spending 15-30 minutes inside walking and enjoying the silence.
