We were booked into the Orly by the company that organized the whole of our 3 week trip to Peru, Chile and Argentina. We asked for something quiet and small and comfortable. And that is what Orly provides. Easy access to the city center. A block away from the river and the sculpture park. Our room was surprisingly large with a great bathroom and v. comfortable bed. Great WiFi Internet access. We were there over New Year which is great - but EVERYTHING in town is closed. Hotel staff helped us get laundry done and helped us find the ONLY restaurant within walking distance that was still open. Oh and a nice touch: tea and coffee are available 24/7 in a lovely little salon and courtyard behind the registration desk. No hesitation in recommending Orly.

Room Tip: Some reviewers have said that rooms facing the street are noisy. Our room faced the street and there is traffic - Santiago buses seem to enjoy revving their engines at the Stop sign. But we did not find the noise to be a problem.

As mentioned elsewhere, this hotel is frequented by English speaking guests probably because of the great reviews posted on sites like this one. I've stayed here several times as well as the big chain hotels (i.e., all the Sheraton's and the W) in Santiago. Those are very different types of hotels but I prefer this for it's character, it's location, value, and the staff. I return here next week! Rooms can be small but if you can get the Junior Suite and don't mind the added price, you can be very comfortable. The apartments are down the street and are also a great value and more size with separate bedroom, living room/kitchenette. The breakfast is delicious and includes eggs, bread, fresh fruit, cereals, juice and coffee. There is a nice outdoor seating area right on the street which is great for having a drink or meal and simply watching the neighborhood bustle.

Room Tip: As with most good hotels, they will secure your bags if you arrive early (i.e., from an overnight international flight). This is very convenient, allowing you to visit the city - the metro is a short walk away.

This hotel is home to the world's smallest elevator...two persons or one person and a full backpack. But that is more a quirk than a complaint. This hotel has so much going for it from an extremely competent staff to clean rooms to a pleasant restaurant on its doorstep. But perhaps its greatest strength comes from its location. As others have noted, it is close to so many things a visitor wants and needs from banks to other restaurants to a very nice linear park along the river front.

Our room for two nights was small, but met our needs. And response to any issue, no matter how small, was responded to in what seemed to be nanoseconds.

Can highly recommend this facility.

Room Tip: Ask the front desk for directions to the statue above the city. You can walk it or take a taxi, but it gives you great panoramic views of the city.

A popular hotel for English speakers, the staff were consistently attentive and more than willing to help--planning day excursions, renting cars, advising of costs of everything. Can not comment on the rooms in the hotel as we stayed across the street at the apartments for $135 which i think was only $10 more than rack rate at the hotel. If you are considering the Orly I strongly recommend you do take this option. The apartments our group had (four different ones on two stays) were spacious, well appointed, absolutely clean, and a great value.

Room Tip: The area is active and Valdivia, though not the main drag, can be busy at night--ask for an apartment off the street or on the upper floors (or both).

We stayed at the Orly Hotel over Christmas 2012. The staff was great and helpful, they spoke English very well. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast was a great way to start the day.

The Orly Hotel was in a quiet location but close to restaurants, the mall, and the Metro subway system. The hotel staff was very helpful with giving directions and using the subway.

We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: The smoking rooms are on floor 4 and 5. We stayed on the 2nd floor and never smelled any smoke. It was quiet. I believe we had a window on the East side which was great to wake up to the sun.
