I've no idea how much the rooms cost as we were there as part of a package. The downstairs has the appearance and feel of a top class hotel. Upstairs the rooms are clean but look a bit shabby, some of the stains on the carpet looked interesting. The staff, to a man and woman are helpful and pleasant and most speak very good English. In the restaurant they serve both an a la cart and a set table menu, both of which we tried, and both were excellent. They also offer a happy hour menu, which consists of a buffet, which we didn't try but looked good. There is also a fitness centre and a tiny pool plus free internet access. Although the hotel is located in what looks like a business district, and is quite a long way outside Santaigo, it is only about 100Metres from the subway. Fairly new, the subway is clean, cheap, fast and seems very safe. It costs about £3 to get into the centre of the city and takes about twenty minutes. Outside the hotel there is a smallish shopping mall and a fairly large supermarket. There is also a decent park about twenty minutes walk from the hotel. Outside the hotel we felt very safe and most of the Chileans we met, even though most don't speak English tried to be very helpful. We would stay here again.

I had the pleasure of spending a week here in January, the staff are all friendly with a good level of English. The food in the restaurant is great quality and beautifully presented. Rooms could do with a bit of an update, but they are clean and comfortable.

The hotel is great if you are on business at the nearby Offices, not a place to stay for sightseeing, it's a bit of a trip to the city.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front give best views of the mountains. I was on the back and only had a view from my b...

It was the first time we visited Santiago. This hotel is literally right next to the subway/metro station. It's very convenient if you are the explorer type and don't mind getting around using the subway. Across the street of the hotel have a couple of decent shopping malls and little stores/cafes. One block from the hotel is a large supermarket (Lider). Very convenient location. However, it's not very close to all the tourist attractions, which are mostly located in the Santiago downtown area. It was fine for us as it's only about US$1 for one way subway ticket to go anywhere...

The hotel itself is a bit small. Lobby is small. Reception area is small. It's also a bit dated. It still has excellent service though - like, they still have nightly turn down service that most hotels don't have.... or give you a shoe cloth to clean your shoes... which I rarely see in hotels nowadays. Hotel breakfast is okay. They have a few hot items (eggs, pancakes, sausages, bacon), some fruits (strawberries will not be replaced once it's emptied... which other fruits will be replaced), toasts, some ham, juice, tea, coffee, etc.

We do not speak spanish and fortunately that is 1 staff on duty that can speak OK english, and we were able to communicate with her well.

Initially they charge us extra when we checked out, but after checking the bill vs. our original estimates, they were able to fix the charge.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone - but please expect the dated decor...

Our experience wasn't good. We stayed at Regal Pacific in March/2009. Most of the reception staff was nice except from one employee that kept saying that I had consumed a bottle of beer from the room fridge. After a stressful discussion, he promised to revert this item in the credit card (until today, it wasn't done).
The concierge tried to misled us in renting a car, recommending a local rent a car, instead of calling to the ones that I asked.
I'll never come back - worst service I've experienced.

Disagree with other reviews. Had incredible room [705]. Staff very efficient. Breakfast good. Lobby spacious and comfortable. Swimming pool really a spa and gym tiny. Location safe, near underground but away from centre. Would definately stay again.

My wife and I stayed at the Regal Pacific Hotel from 12/10 to 12/14/2011. We were disappointed mainly because we were expecting a 4.5 star hotel and found a 3 star hotel at best. The location was good, near a metro station and two large shopping centers. The area was very safe. The hotel lobby is is not very appealing and its decoration is in the French style.

All the receptionists were very nice and professional. We only had contact with one of the concierges who was very arrogant and not very friendly. We had a standard room. The carpet in our room was stained. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was well stocked. The coffee was not very good. We did not use the restaurant or the pool.

I would use this Hotel again as a 3 star hotel. This is definitely not a 4.5 star Hotel.

Room Tip: Have no suggestion. Our room faced the main road but it was quiet.

As other travelers have noted, the Regal Pacific is somewhat outdated. The rooms could use a design refresh, and the restaurant's 1980's decor is straight out of a Duran Duran music video.

But in spite of its aesthetic shortcomings, the Regal Pacific is an excellent place to stay in Santiago. The service was nothing short of perfect, with staff glad to help with anything and everything. The breakfast spread is fantastic -- including fresh blackberries and strawberries -- and the hotel restaurant serves a mean Chilean sea bass.

So, if you're after some old fashioned charm and don't mind stepping back in time to the mid-1980's, give the R.P a try.

It should be noted, however, that the Regal Pacific's beds/mattresses are very comfortable and do appear to have been replaced since Bon Jovi's heyday.
