“Good location, great service”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We recently stayed 5 days in this hotel and all up it was a excellent experience. The staff (especially Juan) were very helpful with arranging tours and providing suggestions where to dine. We also had meals in the hotel dining room which were good value. The rooms were very clean and well serviced, the decor was a bit dated. The hotel is located in a residential area but within walking distance of the metro. If you do not want to live in the CBD this is an ideal hotel.

I thought this hotel was an excellent choice although a bit far from CBD it was very comfortbale and gave the impression of a recent refurbishment.

Staff were friendly and obliging although restuaurant staff had little english we managed to achieve outcomes with few problems.I would recommend this hotel.

Overall experience is good. Very clean and spacious. Good breakfast and pleasant personnel. Quick check-in and check-out.

Only disappointment is that gym is not complimentary, although use of swimming pool and Jacuzzi are. But for a business hotel those items are less interesting than a treadmill.

I spent one night in this hotel together with my wife and our little girl. We actually lives in Santiago but was looking for a nice hotel with a good swimming pool, and we found what we want on this hotel. It has a good warm pool with Jacuzzi, which unfortunately was on maintenance, but it was okay. i was able to play with my daughters on the afternoon and also on the next day, where we own the entire pool to ourselves, I guess most ppl preferred to spend more time exploring Santiago then the hotel, and it worked out very well for us.
I booked a superior room from internet the night before we came, and it was taken care very nicely. The room having a double size bed plus a sofa bed, which was laid out already as we came. It was a pretty decent room, with LCD TV plus free WIFI which you can also use almost on the entire part of the hotel with very good speed. The only thing a little bit awkward is the fact that there are two separate rooms for bathroom and toilet, and the later one is so small that I'm not feeling comfortable in it. Also the bathroom is having both shower and bathtub on a different place, which is not common. I was thignking why not just put the toilet in the place where the shower is located, hence we can get extra space in the room. Nevertheless it was just a minor thing, and should not bother most ppl.
The breakfast was not so much to our standard, i mean i'm from asia, and in many hotels that i've been in there, they always have a complete set of breakfast, both western and eastern meal, while here it's only standard western style breakfast. But again, it was okay, and the restaurant has a kids corner, so my daughter can play while we had our breakfast.
We ordered a room service for our dinner, and to my surprise it was superbly delicios, even more than most of the restaurant i ever tried in Santiago, and it fits perfectly to my asian stomach, so other ppl might think differently. The price was also decent, and would surely to consider the next time we come.

We were part of a tour group. Unusually on our trip, the check-in staff (one man on his own) photocopied all the passports as he went along allocating rooms, rather than keeping them to do afterwards as other hotels had done. This left him getting redder and redder in the face with the effort, while we stood in a queue for almost an hour. (We happened to be at the back of the queue.)

Finally, we were given a key to room and taken up to it. The porter with us opened the door, and my first thought was: "This room hasn't been made up." Then I realised that it had personal belongings strewn around, and it dawned on me that it was in fact someone else's room! The porter then realised this and ushered us out, asking us to wait on the landing while he sorted it out. We were left on the landing for about 15 minutes. It was getting late and we were tired. He had left the room key with us, so we could have explored the other guy's belongings, had we been so inclined. So much for security! Then the porter returned, asked for the key back and left us waiting again. Eventually he reappeared with a key for a room that wasn't already occupied.

We think that this room was allocated to us in panic. Others on our tour group seemed to fare better, but our bathroom was extremely shabby and the toilet lacked a lid! The bedroom was OK, and we liked the iPod charging facility, kettle, and curious desk-on-swivelly-castors - but the bathroom was so gross it that these things didn't really compensate.

The hotel is situated in quite a boring district, a long walk from the metro. There's a decent Indian restaurant not too far round the corner.

Room Tip: Try to get one that isn't already occupied.

My wife and I are coming to the end of a 7 day trip to Santiago. Staying at the Novotel has been a very comfortable experience. Set in tree lined avenues, Vitacura is a little out of town. Internet is working well. Staff are friendly with very good room service when required. Short taxi ride or 15 min. walk to Parque Aruba shopping mall.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking side street are quieter.

A great Novotel. A very well kept hotel in one of the best neighborhood of Santiago - Vitacura, just some blocks from Alonso de Cordova Street.
The rooms were recentely remodeled, with a funcional safe, mini-bar, a great TV channel selection and an eletric kettle (a small but rare appliance even in five star hotels in South America) - the majority of the rooms face a quiet residential street and noise is not an issue. A curious aspect: there is a bathroom (with shower and a bath) and a toliet room separated.
Great breakfast (for SA standards of course....Americans can find the breakfast a bit limited) and a great staff - all waiters in the restaurant were extremely polite and friendly and managed to get a late-late-late check out at 4 PM given that my flight only departed at 7:30 PM.
Another positive aspect: there is a superby SPA in the hotel: do not miss the Vespucci SPA.
