“Best hotel ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Ok, maybe not quite, but I was there for one week and felt very well looked after. I had an upgrade, which always helps, but the service was superb throughout the hotel. The views over the Andes were amazing too. Little things did go wrong, but were always sorted (e.g. a bulb went and was replaced within minutes of me calling them. I asked for extar towels oen day, and again, the speed was impressive. Breakfasts were fine, though I did have a poor experience in the restaurant (dinner overcooked) but they addressed it by giving me a free coffee and a discount on the bill. I don't think it's ever fair to demand perfection, but what I do want is quick resolution, and this hote did that very well

Room Tip: Join the rewards club, be nice and ask for an upgrade!

We stayed for three days and thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. It's right opposite a large shopping mall which has every imaginable shop, boutique, etc....apparently, one of the largest malls in S. America. The room was immaculate and well stocked with toiletries etc. We were on the 14th floor so no noise, plus a view of the Andes (albeit if you craned your neck) so maybe best to ask for that on the booking form. Breakfast was absolutely lovely- really nice little pastries, good coffee and loads of standard items. The staff were excellent, especially when we wanted to book tours and taxis. We spent a day in the Andes through a travel company the concierge's desk had leaflets for-it was a fantastic trip, well worth the money-and one of the many young men on the concierge's desk escorted us to cashpoint to extract our money, then howed us where the bus stop was. (We also booked the hop-on hop-off bus tour but that wasn't nywhere near as good.) The staff at the hotel were helpful and they even got us a cheaper taxi back to the airport than the shuttle bus we'd been quoted. We didn't use the pool or gym.

Room Tip: Ask for views of the Andes-not all rooms can see them clearly.

We stayed at the Radisson Plaza for 4 days. The hotel is located in a convenient area of town walking distance to a metro train station, shops and restaurants. The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds and pillows and separate bathroom with a shower over the bath tub. Good water pressure and hot water with nice towels. We had a deluxe room on the 12 floor with mountain views.
Breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold foods, tea/ coffee and fruit juices. WiFi is available in all areas except for the gym & pool area, sadly the connection was not to good in our room and kept dropping out and having to relog back in, very frustrating.
Front desk staff very helpful and speak good English.
The bar is not fully stocked with all items on the menu, and appears not to be used by hotel patrons. We had laundry delivered to our room that was not ours.
After traveling & trekking through South America for a month this hotel was a terrific way to finish our holiday. But I would not recommend this hotel for people who are seeking night life, cafes, bars or clubs as they are a distance away, easily enough to get to by train (the train system is easy to use, fast and can be packed even at night).

The Radisson is a great hotel within walking distance to many restaurants. The room is clean & spacious and the bed was comfortable. One minor problem is that I could hear people walking around in the floor above mine (14th) which is unusual. But overall I would stay here again, it was reasonably priced for the quality level and had a good breakfast buffet and the cheeseburger from room service was really good.

During my first visit to South America recently I stayed 6 nights at the Radisson Plaza Santiago. Since I had a very long flight and landed early in the morning, I contacted the hotel in advance to request a pick up. Got fast replies and a decent price (24000 pesos) for a one way transfer for the two of us. Upon arrival a friendly driver waited with a sign and took us to our car.

When arriving at the hotel, the room wasn't ready yet, but to compensate we got two vouchers that you could use for a Pisco Sour, coffee etc in the two bars adjacent to the lobby. We went across the road to the giant mall Costanera Center for a few hours, and when we got back at noon our room was ready, well before the official check in time (and we also received new Pisco Sour vouchers). We also enquired about the free weekend room upgrade mentioned on TA and was told that they could upgrade us for a night during the coming weekend.

The room was nice with a flatscreen tv, comfortable bed, decent-working and free, quite fast wifi, minibar and a bath-tub. The best thing though was the view over both the city and the Andes.

We never tried the swimming pool but went to have a look at the view. The pool area is situated on the 20th (or was is the 21st?) floor and features some great views over the city. There was a smaller jacuzzi and a larger swimming pool as well as a gym. Also noticed the door to the helipad for those wanting to avoid possible traffic jams on their way from or to the airport. :)

The hotel's facilities is good, but not amazing. Rooms are, as others have mentioned a little worn, and could probably use an update soon. But everything works well, and it had pretty much all I needed. What really struck me as great though is the staff. They learned our names, helped us out with different things and were all very friendly, in a relaxed way. They also sorted it out so that we could stay in our upgraded room for the remainder of our stay instead of the only night mentioned at check in. The business class room that they upgraded us to was slightly nicer than the first one with separate living room and bed-room as well as eg. an ipod dock, but apart from that nothing spectacular.

We had a few Piscos in the bar since we got several vouchers, and enjoyed them. They also gave us chocolates each night which was an additional nice touch. Breakfast was included and I found it quite good. There were a few hot items such as bacon, eggs and sausages. There were different kinds of bread, cheese, salami, yoghurt and pastries. Not fantastic, but not bad either. Only thing I did not like was the lack of fresh vegetables.

As mentioned earlier, the Radisson is located across the road from the giant Costanera Center mall with six floors of shops, supermarkets, restaurants etc. On the first floor there is a large supermarket where you can buy pretty much anything (we went there to buy drinks, water, snacks etc). On the fifth floor there is a large foodcourt and a few other restaurants and on the top floor is a cinema. We tried the Cine which is a separate "VIP" cinema with better seats. The subway is about five minutes walk (straight ahead following the pedestrian bridge leading from Costanera Center). On that same way is a restaurant called Liguria which was really good by the way.

All in all I really liked the Radisson. Great staff, free wifi, good breakfast, fantastic location. It was put simply very convenient for a first-time visitor to Chile and South America. If they would freshen up the rooms and maybe add a more interesting restaurant it would probably be a five. Now a quite strong four.
