“Nice stay in Santiago”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

The Atton Las Condes is a great place to stay while in Santiago. The rooms are nicely appointed, large and comfortable. On a clear day you'll have a fantastic view of the Andes Mountains if your room is on the "scenic" side of the hotel. The only complaint I have is the poor water temperature regulation in the shower. The water temp would literally go from luke warm to scalding without notice. The first shower was not fun. I thought it was just my room, but several of my traveling companions had the same experience. The location is perfect if you want to be near shopping and food. The hotel offers a very nice extensive breakfast buffet on a daily basis. There is also a very nice mall within walking distance and if you are visiting from the US, you will find many of the name brand stores you are familiar with in the states - Banana Republic, Mac, Puma, Nike. The mall also has many US fast food restaurants in the food court (McDonald's, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken - not good for you, but if you get homesick...) and about 4 or 5 sit-down restaurants as well. The mall is anchored by Jumbo which is equivalent to a Target Supercenter (groceries and all). There are many restaurants within walking distance as well. I recommend Le Due Torri (great italian!) or Tiramisu (great pizzas and salads), but there's also many American eateries as well - Ruby Tuesday, Subway, Pizza Hut (yes, Pizza Hut...).

This is a nice hotel in a very nice and elegant area. It is located quite far most of the interesting places for tourists in Santiago. The hotel is very comfortable and convenient. There is a mall close by, but not many restaurants around. You would have to pick a taxi to move around to almost any place.

Atton Las Condes Hotel is a perfect place to stay:

Nice mountain or city view.

Everything you need and nothing you don't but pay for in all those
USA international chains.

Excellent location at really, and without risk of assault, walking distance from best shopping mall in town and it´s food boulevard.

Room Tip: ask for room far from the electric humming of an electric transformer station across the street

Nice location in New Las Condes. There is a Mall 500 m from it with many typical things. Ask the location in the Lobby. Especially Chilean vines you will find there...
I liked the service, clean and the breakfast. Nice Internet link.
The Metro station is not farway....Manquehue Station maybe 600 m going for Av. Alonso de Cordova until Av. Apoquindo. You can do a good tour in Santiago just by metro...
Dont lose Mercado Central and Museo Pré Colombiano.
30 minutes to International airport Arthuro Benites by Av. Costanera Norte

Room Tip: There is a hard traffic in the morning at Av. Alonso de Cordova . Woul be good chose a highest floor...

Pros - Moderate price (for this area), new construction, nicely decorated rooms, free/fast in-room wi-fi. Walk to shopping, subway, park.

Cons - Poor soundproofing between rooms. Public spaces (lobby) poorly laid out, restaurant has VERY limited hours of operation.

The hotel is in a great location - Las Condes is a nice part of Santiago - very safe and easy to walk around, interesting sites nearby. What I liked most was the hotel location - do try to get on the highest floor possible because there is alot of street noise. But, it's not horrible if you keep the room windows shut. The food was ok, the wait-service in the breakfast buffet are and the bar area was fine. The room service lacked much (e.g. - long, long waits for food and then receiving the wrong order!), but the food quality itself at the hotel was fine. Yummy french fries!

My biggest gripe - I asked for a face-cloth every day and never got one. ever. I even asked in Spanish! If you like to wash your face with a face-towel, my advice is to bring your own! Be prepared to at least try to speak Spanish because the hotel staff does not easily / often speak English.

I read previous write ups and agree with alot of what was said - don't take a taxi that's sitting at the hotel - they will charge double or tripple the regular price. Just walk down the street a bit and hail a cab - you'll get a cheaper fare. There is a Starbuck a short walk from the hotel - but I found the coffee in the hotel to be just fine. (I had read there was bad coffee in Chile - I did not find that to be true - the coffee is just fine!).

If you want to go on a guided tour through the hotel - the prices I found were competitive....just make sure to ask for someone to speaks English....in which case you might end up with a driver and a translator - worth the money.

At checkout - the hotel tried to charge for a room service order that never occured. After point out the error - and insisting that it was an error - they finally made a correction.

Overall, I would recommend it. There are other nice/branded hotels nearby (e.g. Marriott) but the Atton wasn't all that bad - I'd stay there again.

By the way - a cab from the Airport is very pricey. Take the Shuttle Bus that's just outside the Terminal and it's about $15/US, it's safe and efficient. Well worth the price! HOWEVER, make certain you have the specific address of the hotel because apparently there is more than one Atton and the shuttle driver may not speak English and may not know which Atton you want to be dropped at.
