The Ritz in Santiago is in a very nice neighborhood but the interior is a bit worn and dated. Service was great. Food was fine. One of the best "chain" hotels available but don't expect a US style Ritz. It's a little below par unfortunately..

We had a great stay at this typically good Ritz Carlton. The position of the hotel is ideal in the centre of the financial district but also surrounded by lots of good restaurants including those in the hotel. We found the staff we incredibly helpful and even replenished our toothpaste when we ran out without us needing to ask. The Club lounge is excellent with delicious presentations of food and drink throughout the day. There is also a beautiful pool and sun deck on the roof. This hotel made our visit to Santiago.

The hotel is centrally located; it is right in the heart of the financial district of Santiago. It is nice to stroll along the main street beside the hotel as there are a lot of nice buildings to look at. The hotel is also near a lot of restaurants, some of which are the best in Santiago.

Our hotel room is nicely appointed. The bed has nice linen and very comfortable to sleep in. The bathroom is fine and has a luxurious brand of bathroom amenities. They have small boxes of chocolates to serve you at night.

The hotel lobby and sitting room at the ground floor are decorated with an "old world" feel to it. The sitting room nearby is cozy to lounge at although I think that the sofas need refurbishing. As to the hotel breakfast, they have a wider array of choices than most hotels I've been to. The food was also good.

As to the service of hotel staff, I think they were nice. The bellboys were helpful in giving out directions to other parts of Santiago and know what to recommend when it comes to dining.

I also went to the hotel spa and found it nice.

Room Tip: Choose a room fronting the street of the main entrance of the hotel.

While it may not meet the highest expectation of Ritz-Carlton customers, we found this to a very comfortable hotel with large comfortable rooms. My wife said the spa and pool area was excellent. The very best thing about this hotel is it's location. It's near shopping and restaurants so you don't need a cab every time you want to go somewhere. The neighborhood appears to be well kept and safe. If you are looking for a spectacular view, the Park Hyatt may be a better choice, but the location of the Ritz makes it my choice.

Spent 8 days in Santiago, staying at The Ritz. The hotel is located Las Condes, the Beverly Hills of Santiago, so if you're angling for a more authentic taste of the city, you should look elsewhere.

That said, the hotel itself is beautiful, if not stodgy in terms of what I like to call "old man décor" - dark, heavy curtains, velvet couches, tassles on all of the pillows, marble floors, gawdy art pieces... Not exactly right for those who prefer more modern furnishings. Despite it not being my taste, the hotel is very well equipped and my stay included a beautiful, king-sized room with club access (free food and drinks all day long!). The room itself was a very good size with beautiful views of Santiago and the surrounding mountains. Bathroom included a very n ice soaking tub and separate marble shower. Great water pressure and nice amenities.

BEST thing about the hotel has to be the POOL. It's located on the roof and is enclosed in a greenhouse-like glass cathedral ceiling of windows that look out over the city and mountains. Breathtaking. Perfect temperature and a nice size, especially for a rooftop pool. There is also a nice sized rooftop terrace with lounges for sunbathing and a decently sized gym, so you can get your workout done while taking in the incredible views.

I stayed here for business, which was great because of the easy access to the metro which is not even one block from the hotel. There are also plenty of cabs available and several restaurants within walking distance. Definitely would come back again.

Santiago was a regular business stop for me in the 1990's, while Chile was still struggling to come out of its post-Pinochet funk. Now it is fully recovered as a vibrant lovely city, with the Ritz Carlton situated in one of the choice locations in Los Condes. Hotel service was excellent, at reception and throughout our stay, the front desk even making arrangements for use of the business center after regular hours. The bedroom was comfortable and elegantly furnished, and the sound-dampening glass in the windows was a treat as we watched furious traffic activity below.
Drinks in the bar were somewhat pricy, but that's the Ritz! There are several notable restaurants within easy walking distance from the Hotel, and enough foot traffic that security is no concern. The hotel deserves its 5 stars.

We love Chile, and the addition of the Ritz Carlton in Santiago was a real plus. Located conveniently down town, you can walk or take public transportation anywhere.

My only complaint was the beds were too soft for my liking. Another than that everything was perfect. We had a room on the Club Floor. The Club Room is beautiful and they really go all out with service and food.

Keep up the great work.

Room Tip: Go for the club floor
