Ask to eat in the back garden for a intimate, summery dinner. The pisco sours and seafood appetizers here are the way to go. Service is outstanding (especially in comparison to the other restaurants we dined at in Santiago): our Brazilian waiter was really friendly and helpful.

This beautifully decorated restaurant is more of a feast for the eyes than anything else. We ate here with an old friend who had driven into Santiago to meet us and the restaurant came recommended by the concierge at our hotel (The Aubrey - just around the corner).

Stunning hard wood floors and antiques scattered around tastefully with a wine cabinet that stretches up two floors, we were really taken aback when we first arrived.

The food sounded delicious and we ordered starters and mains but, to be blunt, it was fairly basic fare. Well done, homey food, it tasted fresh and decent but quite plain both in the presentation and the hit on the tastebuds.

That might not have mattered so much, however, if it wasn't for the really shoddy service that we received. We had a great table upstairs next to a window but perhaps we were too far away. The servers took an order for two drinks (out of three) when we first sat down and then took 15 minutes to come back for them. Then we ordered two more drinks (our friend had arrived) and 10 minutes later they came back with one, and 10 minutes after that they came back with the other.

We stayed for quite a while and ordered many more drinks and bottles of wine... but we literally had to get out of our seat to go and find someone to take our order. And they weren't very happy about it - I mean the fact that we were still there, not that they were apologising because we had to come and find them.

The whole thing could have been a lovely experience but it ended up being one of those times when you have a wonderful time despite the restaurant, instead of because of it.

And be warned: the bathroom is absolutely freezing in winter!

The staff is very friendly and the is food outstanding. Located in a very nice old house in Bellavista, with an nice patio to enjoy the warm weather and a fresh Pisco sour.

Really enjoyed eating here. The owner was a personal friend of Pablo Neruda and he eats here regularly. Interesting food, well prepared with top service. Great value for money.

This jewel is tucked at the foot of the Cerro San Cristobal in the Bella Vista area. I've driven-by countless times without ever noticing this place.

A friend took me here about a week ago and I must admit that there are jewels still to be found in Santiago.

The ambiance is very unique with lots of antique wood decorations.

Food was good but not memorable. I'll give an update when I try this place a couple of more times.
