More than a review, this is a thank you note, to Rakesh, and his family/restaurant.
Today was our first time (of future many) in the Jewel Of India. A beautiful place, that embraces you with the best attention ever possible. The food is fantastic, every ingredient, brought directly from India, cooked by indian hands, makes you feel that you were actually there. The quality is admirable. The attention is what really makes the difference.
It is by far, the best Indian food I've had in Chile and I am definitely coming back for more.
Thank you Rakesh, see you soon!

If you are looking for REAL indian dinner, this is the place. Superb ingredients and impecable cousine (glass enclosed) mix together to make quite a wonderful experience. Plus the attention is great, definitely worth every cent!

The restaurant is about 15 minutes away from the Metro station Manuel Montt, though most customers seem to have their own vehicle - for a good reason: the restaurant is not cheap! The dishes are tasty and fresh, the owner is extremely nice and welcomes every guest personally but 3500 Pesos for plain rice is simply too much. The restaurant offers a variety of local and international (also Indian) beer and a selection of vine. The vegetarian dishes are recommendable but we hope that they will reconsider their price policy.

We eaten there for the first time today after listening about that so many times, but my wife doesn't like indian food... till today! First, we have been welcomed by the owner with a "Welcome to my home, dear (my name)!". The restaurant is splendid. The furniture, the cutlery, the dish, etc. are nice and stilish. Everything is spotless. There is also a large terrace for the day. The food is to say the less gorgeous, from the entree' to the dessert and the cha (tea).

What is really outstanding is the care the owner put in any detail. He told us how to actually eat indian food (using the naan and your hands, not the cutlery) and the phylosophy behind it ("if you use cutlery used by thousands people, even if they are clean, the energy in the food will never come to you"), suggested to put away all the mobile phone (yes! I agree with that!!!) and a menu extremely intriguing. What amazed me was some type of indian cheese that he produce every day at home.

He is clearly honestly passionate about food. Apparently his (huge?) family own 63 restaurants all over the world. Calling in advance you may have cooked for you whatever you like. We left the restaurant only 3 hours and half later, after consuming the best indian food ever.

Unfortunately I have no idea about the food because my very keen friend decided to pay himself (Thanks!!!) but I guess is - correctly - on the expensive side. However, I would suggest to pay a visit if you pass by Santiago.
