This was our second experience with Pedro and Fueguinos. We had previously used his services in 2011 when we had undertaken two hikes.

For this trip, Pedro picked us up from the cruise ship terminal in Valparaiso, Chile and we did the coastal walk near Algorabbo.

Everything was arranged beforehand by email and Pedro was waiting at the terminal with his van that had a lockable chest in it to store our suitcases while we were on the hike.

The hike was not overly strenuous and took in the seaside areas, with interesting bird life and vegetation. We spent a few hours hiking and stopping for photo opportunities while Pedro shared his knowledge with us again.

Pedro supplied a good lunch and we also stopped off at a seaside café for a drink and snacks towards the end of the day.

As arranged, Pedro dropped us off at our hotel which was located right at Santiago Airport.

A good way to spend the day and convenient to be picked up and dropped off. Cost was $375 US dollars for 2 people which I thought was reasonable - especially when the cost of transfers from the port are not exactly cheap - and we had an enjoyable day.

We took a day tour with Pedro to La Campana. He recommended this trip to us given the time of the year. Pedro was great, he is very experienced and did not rush the experience. Often with day tours you feel that your schedule is built around the guide, in this case Pedro really does take the time to make sure it is a positive experience at the pace you want. He provided breakfast, lunch and drink and empanada at a local restaurant at the end of the day.
As for La Campana, it is an amazing place. Our walk took us approx 6hrs walking approx 15kms, approx 800 m elevation (on a 33-35 degree day!). Luckily there were a number of streams for us to cool our feet. We are able to see different bird life, plants and animals. The views of the Chilean Palms and mountains is amazing. Pedro carried a book/brochure with different types of birds which came in very handy when bird spotting and was full of knowledge. Pedro also took photo's throughout the day, and provided us with access to these the next day. Thanks Pedro for a great day.

We did the San Fransisco/El Morado hike with Pedro and would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Santiago. Pedro organised the day very well including breakfast, lunch and a drink at the end. The area is close to Santiago - around 1.5hrs if traffic is good. Once you get out of the city the drive follows the Maipo river which is interesting as well. Then the location of the hike is spectacular. All in all the tour was perfect and Pedro looked after us very well.

Me and my husband spend a day hiking with Pedro and two lovely ladies from U.S. I think all has been said in previous reviews. Pedro is just as knowing, kind and humerous as been said. And what a nice surprise it was when Pedro brought a good Columbian coffee to our breakfast. It´s not easy to find good coffee in Chile. If you want to get in touch with nature while in Santiago, do not miss a hike with Pedro.

My friend Betty and I spent a day trekking in the Andes with Pedro and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Chile! I couldn't recommend it more highly! I'm 65 years old so I was a little worried about elevation etc. but Pedro inspired perfect confidence as a guide and managed to gracefully and enthusiastically orchestrate a beautiful hike that gave us spectacular views all the way but was within our trekking abilities. He did everything with care and warmth, from the delicious lunch he brought along, (with a special treat of a jar of local black olives) to sharing our excitement over spotting condors sailing in the sky overhead, to taking lots of wonderful photographs which were waiting in our e mail when we got home, a marvelous bonus to a memorable day. The trail he had originally planned for our journey was closed, but with no hesitation at all he changed plans and led us with skill, knowledge and great good humor on a lovely journey. If you're in Santiago and want to spend a day out of the city in nature, Pedro is definitely the best! Muchos gracias, Pedro! Laura B.
